No, I don't think that it's weird at all. In fact, I find this to be quite normal. I have a guy friend who I thought the same thing towards; we both liked the same things, we would tease each other sometimes, and we would have a lot of the same outlooks on different subjects. I was thinking that he didn't like me back, but I was wrong. However, I'm not telling anda anything about how he feels; I, of course, don't know him and don't know his feelings either. But I am telling anda that anda can have a chance, so don't feel as if he'll never feel the same atau anything like that. I think that anda should grab some of your Friends to help anda out if you're too scared/nervous to ask him yourself. Just tell him how anda feel, and straight to the point. Another guy friend of mine helped me along with my best friend when I was trying to tell my bf how I feel about him. That friend berkata that guys like straight-forward answers. They're all different, sure, but if anda want to try that then go ahead. He IS your friend, though, and after all anda should know what he likes. If he likes poems atau something like that, convey your feelings that way. I'm just giving some examples here. I'm sure that anda can do it. Just don't give up and, even if he doesn't feel the same, anda can still be the great Friends that anda are. He might even like anda right now. anda can never be sure until anda check it out sejak yourself -- atau with help, if anda so prefer. Good luck to you, and feel free to ask any other soalan anda may have.
