What if there where replacements for the role players.......maybe of opposite gender?????

Then the main character's name Alice would be made Allen wouldn't it? The other characters who were boys would be girls and the girls would be boys. It would make Vivaldi a king of hearts. So then, the tajuk would have to be changed to "Allen in the Country of Hearts" instead of Alice in the Country of Hearts.
