Mia grew up in Australia, but her mother is Polish.That is where she takes her name from. Before she got into acting, she was a ballet dancer.
Mia talked about her experience playing Alice and what a challenge it was.
She said, "One of the things that was scary about taking on that role is the huge peminat base; everybody has their own idea of who she is. So [Tim burton and I] discussed, very early on, just being happy with her being our Alice...making her my own.".
