There's loads of Anime based on video games, if those count.
If we're talking strictly books/movies, then Fushigi no Kuni no Alice is based off Alice in Wonderland. I've never seen the anime, but I've heard of it... I don't really watch Anime based on other things, but I've been wanting to watch Romeo and Juliet because I recently read the play, and loved it<3
