Should I watch Puella Magi Madoka Magica?

I think I telah diposkan a similar soalan in this spot some time ago, the jawapan I got were kinda like the ones you're getting. I tried to watch this Anime but I gave up after watching the third episode.
Maybe it's just because I'm not extremely fond of the magical girl genre either, plus my general dissatisfaction with new anime. The thing that most bothers me though, is the whole "original" dark theme in a cute merah jambu package concept. It wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for the fact that this is already spoilt in the first atau saat episode. Even though anda haven't watched this Anime yet, everyone knows it's that one Anime with a totally unexpected dark theme. What's so unexpected about that if everyone knows it already? I think the way this Anime was promoted just spoilt everything.
That aside, from what i have seen, the characters are also incredibly bland and don't even get me started on the generic violin pop opening XD.
If anda want an Anime with almost the same magical girl meets dark theme concept, I suggest Princess Tutu. While it may be a lot lighter (especially in the beginning), it has a better, lebih gradual approach to this theme.
I'm sorry for ranting, but this was something I wanted to say for a while now. I may be completely wrong about the whole thing because I haven't watched everything. I'm also sorry to people who like this anime, I don't mean to offend anyone.

I would definitely give it a try. I honestly dislike the magical girl genre as well, but as long as anda can put up with the cutesy stuff in the first two episodes, it's such a sad and meaningful series.

Personally I didn't like the series, I also don't like magical girl, but I'd still say anda might wanna give the series a shot. It's only 12 episodes so if anda wanna try it out sejak just watching the first ep. especially considering it's popularity it might pay off just to watch the first ep. and learn the characters names (they're pretty much all introduced in the first episode) it's "dark" magical girl anime, so maybe anda like it? anda can watch it free and legally on crunchyroll

well, i didn´t wanted to watch it in the start because it looked like a really girly and magical anime..but i find out it was really dark and amazing.
the first episodes is pretty girly fluffy..i mean magical girls!
but is an really good Anime and i really think anda should give it a try^ ^

I liked it a lot, especially considering that I usually strongly dislike shows with a mostly female cast. anda should try watching it! C:

I really enjoyed it myself; I enjoy creepy-cute things so it was right up my alley.

It's very heavy in not essentially just 'fight scenes', but it tries to explain why things happen in the magical girl genre. I liked how it explored the 'why' and 'how' rather than throw fight scenes at me. It's really, really cool!!
