Arsenal striker Carlos Vela has told Arsene Wenger he is ready to break into the first team and hopes to become a bintang performer for the Gunners in 2009. Vela, 19, has been forced to wait patiently for his chance, but has already become a fans' favourite at Emirates Stadium,The Mexico international netted a memorable hat-trick against Sheffield United in the Carling Cup back in September and has already showed Wenger he has the ability to compete at the highest level.
Vela has enjoyed successful loan spells with Celta Vigo and Osasuna and believes the experience of playing in La Liga has made him a stronger player.
Wenger has already stated that Vela is one of the best finishers he has ever worked with and the prolific ke hadapan is desperate to repay the faith his manager has shown in him.
Vela said: "Of course it's very important that the manager says these things - it gives anda confidence.
"But I'm still only 19, so I have to keep taking things on board. Hopefully, if I carry on learning, I'll make it.
"The Premier League is teaching me a lot. Certainly, in my opinion, it is the best league in the world and definitely the quickest.
"So to push on it's simple - I just need to keep working, working, working until the manager decides that I merit a starting place."
Vela is slowly coming to terms with his new surroundings and is now confident he can find his way around the capital.
The Arsenal ke hadapan revealed how he was Lost for three hours in London earlier in the season, but has now bought a satellite navigation system to ensure that never happens again.
Vela added: "I'm alright now. I've got a GPS so there's no chance of getting Lost again!
"In the city as a whole I feel very much at ease - I have lebih Friends now, I've seen a lot lebih things and I feel at home.
"My English is coming on nicely too. I can understand a lot but speaking is still lebih difficult!"
