Greetings everyone.
WOW ... what a rewatch it has been? I must say I truly ENJOYED it to the max! And to be honest, watching it a second time poses and anwers so many questions it didn't the first time. Was well worth it. With the foundation of the series firmly set and well placed, we can now move on to the next episode which is titled "Valiant"
It's a nice episode, not to dark or heavy in the drama department but it does have further links and questions we are starving for which deprived us in the final season. So, have a good rewatch and just come back in to drop in your thoughts about the episode. Like HQ before, I too have my version of discussion questions which might be of your interest. So, choose what you want to answer and drop in as many points as you have. And if you have questions yourself, be free to ask me. If not me, my fellow mods will answer them. But remember, HAVE FUN! That's the goal of this rewatch.
Questions.
1. What is Valiant's reason to join the tournament and win it?
2. Name as many plot holes as you like (if there are any). This is my personal fav
3. Why do you think Gaius restricted himself from helping Merlin when Uther questioned about Sir Ewan? His answer could have saved Merlin and Arthur the blushes. And remember, he was the court physician and someone Uther trusted.
4. What did you learn in this episode? (lessons learnt)
5. Arthur showed why he is the once and future king in this episode. Did you all note it? Where?
6. IMO there is one Arwen indicator in this episode? It a when you blink you'll miss it kind of scene. Did you all spot it? Where? Be free to explain why she did it?
7. Name your favourite moment in this episode? (As many you want, it'll be fun if there's more than one.) Explain why you like it.
8. If you are the director, how would you have improved the episode? Name and explain as many you want. Cast, props, setting, plot, music etc.
9. Discuss Merlin and Gwen's progress as friends in this episode.
10. Discuss other relationships; Morgana & Uther, Morgana & Arthur, Gaius & Merlin, Gaius & Uther.
11. Let's discuss the father and son (Arthur & Uther) relationship in this episode. How do you all see it compared to other seasons?
12. The villain in this episode. How good / bad was he? Effective to the plot or simply a waste of talent? Tell us!!
13. And finally, the man of the title himself. MERLIN. Let's review his performance here compared to the first episode. Some liked him and some did not. So, has he done anything to improve your perspective in this episode? Or do you still not like him? How has he changed (if he did) or how can he change for the better? Talk anything!
Have fun folks and will be waiting to hear from all of you anxiously. :)
