sportyshuie SHE WAS GOOD!!!! I wished she had said it back when he snapped at her in the forest!! Would have been a slap on his ego!! Serves him right! ARghhh ... sorry, i was pissed when he snapped at her and those tears that were welling in her eyes, those pain ... i just wanted to slap him! But, this was even better. I liked how she said it and left. And it was he was left longing!!! Way to go Gwen!

HumbleQueen I too loved this moment. She did just what she needed to do and said just what she needed to say. This plus Isolde's death did the trick. Personally, all this snapping back and forth was SOOO good for them. Everything that happened was good for them IMO.

EPaws Neither did he you...that is what he was afraid to say. That is what he just cannot get over. That he cannot stop, though you 'betrayed' him. THAT is what he is angry and confused about. Well, it really is all moot now, characterization wise. I am sure he knows on the most fundamental of levels you did not betray him in any way that counts.

kenya1234 Trust means so much to Arthur. I think it is far beyond our conception in these characters. Gwen also has been on a pedestal where Arthur was concerned. Aside from her being a servant she could do no wrong. He was hurt in the Lancelot/Guinevere episode in season 2 but honestly, he never stated his feelings to her he told Merlin instead. The betrayal hurts so much more for him for the depth of his love for her and the misconception of the thought that Gwen was perfect. We are human and we make mistakes. Also, Arthur above all cannot stand being made a fool out of. He has shown that throughout the seasons and he had Aggravaine poking holes in Gwen's coffin. I do think in this scene most of this was based on his grief, Tristan, and not that much to do with Gwen. When we are hurt we tend to latch out on the ones we love the most and when we do it it is normally with a memory or a past mistake. It is that transfer of emotion theory which has proven to be fact. I do love this moment though because Gwen did not allow him to push her away. She said her peace and she knows now that if there was any doubt on her feelings for him she was making it crystal clear. The ball was now in Arthur's court.
