Mariposa and the Fairy Princess works well if you consider it a standalone movie, but as a Mariposa sequel, it destroyed practically everything I loved about the first Mariposa movie. Nearly everyone was OOC. The tone was way comedic for my taste. The drastic change in animation. The sudden disappearance of the flying rabbit and its replacement by a creepy-looking fur ball with giant eyes. No thanks.

The only good thing about Mariposa and the Fairy Princess was that it basically canonized Mariposa/Carlos, which I love.

"Barbie: Mariposa and her Butterfly Fairy Friends"is the best Mariposa movie.I like"Barbie: Mariposa & the Fairy Princess"too but it just doesn't compare to the original.

Despite the fact that"Mariposa and The Fairy Princess"is one of my favorite third generation movies,I still have to agree with you comment.I really hate the unnecessary changes that they did for no reason like:replacing Zinzie with Zee,not including Rayna and Rayla and changing Mariposa's hair color.

^ Not to mention changing Mariposa's voice. We know Chiara Zanni still does Barbie movies voice acting, as she voiced Erika in Rock'n Royals, so I can't quite comprehend this choice.

Yeah changing Mariposa's voice actress was unnecessary because Chiara Zanni already did a great job at voicing Mariposa.To be honest I'm not even surprised about all these bad decisions because when it comes to Barbie movies Mattel has been full of bad decisions since 2010.

I enjoy the second movie very much despite the scenes are frequently interrupted by Zee and Anu, thanks to the fresh appearance of the Fairy Princess. In addition, the settings of this movie is more inspiring which consist of many sparkling crystals. The kingdom, the palace, and the waterfall are beautifully designed. The costumes are also lovely, especially Catania's. The plot is light indeed, but at least the scenes are not uninteresting or disgusting.

The second movie should have never been made.

The first movie has more adventure and lessons that could be learned.
I do not hate the sequel, but I just think that the plot could have been more interesting. I just don't like the appearance of Zee and Anu.
Catania and the pther crystal fairies also look great.

I like The Fairy Princess movie more. I like that the voice is changed and the overall storyline more. <3
