Neither. Spike gets blown up in Sunnydale and Buffy goes on to live a normal life after Willow casts a spell to make all women able to stand up for themselves and be like Slayers. Buffy and Angel do not get back together either. Angel stays in LA fighting the evil there and Spike is ressurected and fights at Bidadari side for the last season of Angel.
