Does anyone know why Amber Benson (Tara) was never included in the opening credits?

Amber Benson was on an episode to episode contract, where as the actors Seth Green and Marc Blucas were in the tunjuk making the commitment of being on every episode. Amber Benson's contract was much like that of James Marsters during the saat season. They just never switched the contract because they knew that Amber Benson's character was going to be killed off eventually. The reason she was in the opening credits of her last episode (Seeing Red) was because Joss Whedon had always wanted to put a character in the opening credits and then kill them off in the same episode. He was planning to do it with Eric Balfour (Jesse) in the Pilot episode, but they couldn't because of monetary reasons. Joss wanted to do that to surprise the audience, making them think that "hey, since she's in the opening credits, I guess she'll be around for a while"

As far as I know it was to do with time and money officially. Jossfficially (its a word) Tara was never supposed to be a long term when it was decided that she would be I think it was decided she would die. Joss had always wanted someone to be on the credits for the first time in the episode they died which is what happened in "Seeing Red"

Amber Benson's character Tara was only supposed to be on a few shows. As they loved Tara they never knew how much longer she was to be on! So when they decided that Tara's character was going to be killed off they added her to the opening credits. One of Joss's ways to mess with the audience!!!

Amber Benson was included in the credits in "Seeing Red". Joss thought it would be fun/interesting to kill a character in the first episode where they appear in the opening credits.

A person that appears in the opening credit of a TV tunjuk is a person that has a contract that restricts his work, he is on call no matter when, while a person on a "guest" spot is not obligated all the time. The reason Amber Benson was credited in only one episode was actually a thing that Joss Whedon wanted to do where he kills the character the moment she becomes a tunjuk regular.

I think it might be because the character of tara wasn't ment to last as there needed to be a reason for Willow to go dark.

Amber actually was in the opening credits in Seeing Red, when she died. I think she should have been in the credits since season 4/5, but at least she got credited once.
