Even though i was never crazy about his character he didn't start to annoy me till later when it became obvious how much he resented Buffy being stronger than him/not needing him to take care of her. As far as Buffy and Riley vs Willow and Kennedy I must say that Briley just makes sense. ducks from Nika and Debs who might have to kill me at this point I say this because from a story point of view Briley was needed for Buffy's character to grow and evolve, Buffy wouldn't be the character she is in season six and seven without Riley, he shaped her in a way that other characters could not. I was one with the Riley hatred but I've turned into a Riley appericator. I don't like him but I find that with the exception of his infidelity (emotionally) in season five he did try he did love Buffy. Riley allowed Buffy to realize that she wasn't normal and that wasn't what she needed. In a way all Spuffy fans should be Riley appericators because without him I don't think I would have fallen for Spuffy so soon. Now, Willow and Kennedy, I understand wanting to give Willow her happy ending and without Amber available I also understand wanting a different foil but I can't see Willow really going for Kennedy. Briley were kind of cute in season 4, once I forced myself to get over the fact that he was replacing Angel in Buffy's life.
