The Gift. Hands down the Gift for me.

the concept behind chosen with all the potentials was a good way to end it but the gift is all round a more emotional and more realistic sort of end, i liked that buffy was at peace it was a real explosive ending showing the gravestone, rather than the 'what do want to do now?'

i wuld have been ok wiht them ending the show with this cuz then they could have come back to it years later say something bad was happening and they had been ok for eyars but they now needed buffy and they had like this big chance thing like trials and angle and spiek go on them and they get her back but theres something different shes evil buffy and its like a massive big like season then shes back and oh they could have done so much more if theyd left it and come back to it years later, chosen is too much of a were done thats it no more finale! such losers! lol!

The whole thing with season seven was about woman empowerment and I'll be the first to say it rocks! But it just felt forced to me, the first seemed almost too abstract for me. I loved Glory and the gift felt like the perfect episode. You have Buffy doing a normal lil slaying and then the would be victim says 'but you're just a girl' and Buffy says that is what she keeps saying. You have the hero of your piece coming to grips that she is the hero but when she dies it isn't for the sake of the world (at least I don't think that is the main point), it's for her sister. It's for the part of her that is Buffy and not the Slayer.

You have a happy Anya and Xander, Willow and Tara before she pushed her magic too far, and Spike telling Buffy she makes him feel like a man even though he is a monster. There is a sense of completion in it.

Season seven just focused too wide for me when I would have prefered a smaller scope focusing more on our core group and not so much with potentials and massive battles. My favorite parts in season seven are small emotional parts and not the big wide sequences.

I love Chosen, one of the best episodes ever, despite it's many flaws.

The episode itself was amazing, I just felt the buildup was lacking on an individual character sort of way. I think their was more in five. Touched and Chosen are both stupendeous works but I think it had alot of missteps.

So much better than the Gift. The final battle's better, everything's better. When I first watched The Gift I liked it but now it really does annoy me.

I agree with everything Arabella said. I just wasn't fond of Chosen. The potentials weren't needed really, all Spike had to do was wear a necklace and bye bye uber vamps. Nothing was ever explained about what happened with the First, they just pushed back his army. There were too many plot holes. And I didn't like how Xander, Buffy, Willow, and Dawn were so calm about the friends, ex lovers, and homes they lost. The Gift wrapped everything up nicely, it had a sense of, we're done. And the grief that was shown by the scoobies and Spike was approriate. And the voiceover of the speech Buffy gave to Dawn was heartbreaking, as she was entirely right. The hardest thing in the world is to live in it. And the last sight of the coffin, praising everything Buffy was is a great shot.

Touched and End of Days was great, but Chosen just lacked a lot of stuff I found.

Completely! (and thanks Nika) Spike's sacrifice was great and at when he realized what was happening he sacrified himself but I wish he had the info prior. Maybe he had seen it somewhere before or read about it (I'm sure he would have been great with research given the opportunity, just look at season 2 and the ring) and made the concious decision to wear it and let himself go.

The First was honestly too abstract for me. It felt like a season of footsoldiers. And not in the humerous leporsy-hobbit Jinx way. If the First is evil then breaking down it's lair and buring up the minions isn't going to kill it or get rid of it. Evil still goes on because it will always exist in the heart of man. (Ohh, look at me all deep and such) They finsihed up the season and I liked it. I'm able to push the problems away from the forefront of my mind but when comparing it just feels weak to next to The Gift. I thought the Gift was a solid episode of wonderful pieces while I can pick out moments in Chosen that I adore and some of the other things fade. Buffy's speech, standing in the basement, sleeping in...okay, anything in the basement, cookie dough to a degree, D&D, hands clasping, and the Earth is most definately doomed all fall in to my head as greatness but don't fit into the perfect episode. It was like season four for me. Wonderful moments, some of the best (epsiodes) but when put together the main threadline is frayed (Season).

I still just ball every time I watch that episode. Its so sad. And it was also the last episode on the WB. And the shot of the coffin. It was just so sad!
