I think Meg is very well done, but I still don't care for her. Chel too, though I don't dislike her in particular, I just don't love her.

There are plenty. I'm pretty much a master of acknowledging that a movie, story, or character are excellent quality from a broad/mainstream standponit, but still feeling nothing for or just disliking.

If someone tells me Pixar films are "bad," I'll defend and explain their excellent quality to the ends of the earth. If someone asked, "Do you like it? / Why do you like it?" I'll say, "Pft! No, I hate Pixar / Pixar does nothing for me," or "I hate that movie / that movie does nothing for me. I saw it once and have not felt the least desire to think about or watch it again." "So why do you defend it?" "Because it's good quality."

Likewise, there are films or characters that I fully feel / acknowledge are terrible quality, flawed, etc. But I'll love them to death and defend what I feel are their good qualities despite the bad. Sometimes the flaws do not diminish the virtues for me.

Chihiro from Spirited Away. And yes, I get that the whole point is that she's a sullen little kid.
Same with Lilo.

^oh, I always forget about them but same! Lilo slamming the door on Nani's head just because Nani was joking around always drives me crazy. But at least Chihiro develops pretty well out of it.
