I'm not saying we should mock other religions more. I'm just saying that it's very hypocritical. Everyone is so careful nowadays to be politically correct and not offend anyone. I mean, the way tv shows go at it, you would never say those kind of things about Jews or Muslims, so why can you say those things about Christians?

I don't like it, but I think the media makes fun of everything (including themselves).
And I think other religions like Muslim is also another easy target, so although it can be very annoying at times, I don't really think it's targeted specifically at us Christians, so I'm alright

Islam, Scientology, Mormonism, PETA, Green Peace, Christianity - they all get their fare share of mocking. Judaism does, too, actually, though I don't think it's as often.

Also - the craziest liberals and the craziest conservatives are always the ones that make the news. People holding racist signs ("Obama = Jihad") people holding hateful signs ("God Hates Fags") people holding stupid signs ("Save the Dolfins!") or just plain Hitler-referencing signs like link, or link or even link) - They're the ones that get televised. Because they're crazy. Or stupid. Or both.

What? Christians aren't made fun of more than any other religious group. And actually in American programs the majority of characters turn out to be Christian.

On shows like South Park and Family Guy, Christians get made fun of occasionally. However, Jews, Muslims, etc. get it a lot more I've noticed.

No, not other religions. I think they make fun of Christianity because we are not good believers. Muslims simply don't allow for Allah and Muhamed to be insulted, and we hear bad words about our God and Jesus everyday and we do nothing. We are actually ashamed to stand against such a things. I think it should be forbidden by law to make fun of any religion

I really don't care. It's sad that they make fun of us but we should take pity on them, just as Jesus did.

One reason Christians are made fun of so much is because Christianity has more followers than any other religion in the world. Since there are more Christians, there are going to be more jokes, more bad stories (because the news is just entertainment for people who like hearing about bad stuff), and more hype from non-believers.

-- Not to mention a higher potential for people who abuse Christianity (out of stupidity and/or animosity), which can give Christianity a bad name. I'm not saying ANYONE on this spot does that, just saying that there are stupid/hateful people that claim to be acting in the name of Christ, but they aren't. But that happens in all religions, too. I'm just saying, the more followers you have, the more crazies you'll get, statistically speaking.



Once again, for the record, I think 99% of the people here are sane, kind, and warm Christians. NOT the type I mentioned above.

I think it's terrible. People try way too hard to politically correct. I'm a conservative Christian and I believe it's not funny.

the only thing I see is everybody loves raymond and their not doing it to be hurtfull of christens their just doing it for fun and it is not hurtfull heck the main actress is a Christin and Christins do it them self Tim Hawkins is a firm believer but in his stand up comedy he will do it so as yong it their not going to far or not trying to be hurtfull it is okay.

Most christians are homophobic, against abortion and pretty uh... how do I say this... old fashioned? I'm a catholic but I disagree with most of the people on this spot :P

^^ On what do you base this claim? Cite your sources. Or is it just your own experience as a Catholic disagreeing with others of your same religion? Remember, our own experiences are not necessarily representative of the population at large. I prefer to always assume the best about people, rather than let a few bad apples I meet color my opinion of others like them.
