Since I was 8, DETECTIVE STORY, has been my absolute favorite.
I always wonder if that is really ok to admit, since it is a nutty kegemaran movie, especially for an 8 years old, but I yam, who I yam!

Well, almost every classic movie is good. But, the ones that stand out for me are the ones with Judy Garland in them, and all hers are so great, but I'd probably have to say the Wizard of Oz. :)

The stuff that dreams are made of, sweetheart. It would have to be John Huston's "The Maltese Falcon", which became the bellweather for a new genre called Film Noir. Humphrey Bogart's portrayal of the ambiguously moral Sam spade set the standards for screen P.I.s. Shrouded in fog, gateway to the Orient, San Francisco set the standards for atmosphere. And Mary Astor was the first in a long line of distinguished but most misunderstood leading lady - the femme fatale.

So many worth mentioning, but I guess if I was to pick just one I would lean towards Harvey. Not only does it have the great James Stewart, but the story itself is just so pure, it leaves me with a good feeling.
