Why Do The 'Haters' Despise The Twilight Saga? 

I don't agree either, but I don't want to start a flamewar. It's funny how the writer places all the blame on the... haters because they're oh so... hateful, whereas the Twihards have done nothing wrong and they're forced to hate... the haters because they're so... hateful. Whatever.

Freedom of speech is always in jeopardy, it seems. You're entitled to either love things or love things. And if you're not satisfied with these two options, you can also love things!

By the way, I like "Moonlight", I like it a lot. However, I don't go insulting people who don't like it or who haven't seen it and I admit some aspects were horrible. Oh, and I didn't watch the series only because Mick was hot and, guess what, Beth wasn't a cardboard cutout and didn't love Mick only because he was hot!

It's interesting that she mentioned the sparkly, nontraditional vampires and romantic nature of the movie as the reason that haters ...hate it. But she didn't mention the unhealthiness of the relationship between Edward and Bella- which is a huge factor in why so many people don't like it. It's the main reason I don't- that and it's just plain boring. Oh and the other romantic vampire stories that she mentioned? They all have actual plots other than the romance.

I think its interesting that she's picking at the reasons which seem nonsensical. Almost, subconsciously saying we (i am not a hater but a critic) are nonsensical. As Cinders said, she didn't do very good research, as she hasn't found our real reasons for disliking twilight, because if she had, she would find, we have a strong argument.

Oh your moonlight comment, totally agree. Beth has personality, and Mick is likeable, unlike the deadpan Mary-Sue and the vampire obviously compensating for something.

Interesting ... actually, no it's not, it's pretty blatantly obvious. People have their own opinions, and that's just what we do.
Okay, so the media, the fans, the Twitards ... they have no hesitation in saying that Twilight is the new Harry Potter, and the main reason they like Twilight is because:
a) The 'romance' between Bella and Edward. Okay, so he's a sparkling vampyre (totally ruined the image of these ex-demons of the night, mythical creatures, Spike-like beings), who is also over 100 years old, and watches his lover sleep. Without her knowledge. I'm sorry, but I just don't see that as romantic, more or less creepy. Siriusly.
b) The way they can relate to Bella. She's a fictional character, you're not supposed to relate to her, you're supposed to just enjoy the erotica in the novel ... so, what, they see themselves as a whiny, insecure, boring, clumsy girl, swept off her feet by the man of her dreams ... finds herself in the middle of the attention with all the guys and yet she thinks she's so plain and ugly ... I see.
c) That's pretty much it. Oh, and Edward and Jacob are really hot. OH!

And we Potheads just don't find that a legitimate reason to think that Harry Potter is owned by Twilight. Hell, no! Oh, and Twilight is just simply overrated (way too much!) what with the merchandise selling at every freaking store there is, even at the cinemas (yes, that's right, they're selling New Moon shirts at the movies), and nothing deserves that big credit, let alone some pathetic novel with Mary Sues, Gary Sues, and general pedophiles.
