I'm a massive peminat of Delena, always have been. No switching from one ship to the other for me. I've shipped them from the end of 1x03, and I kept on believing it would all work out through some of their darkest and worst times. I watched as other peminat-peminat took fright and disappeared, atau Lost hope and became embittered, and I never gave up. I even wrote an artikel on why DE deserved to be endgame. I still believe they deserve to be endgame. But here's the thing; I am kind of disappointed with what the writers have done to Delena this season. I know that in all epic Cinta stories, every couple must struggle and face many obstacles and that it's not about the destination as much as it is about the journey. However, I feel that the writers have really messed us about this time. They've taken what should have been a momentous and unforgettable season and ruined it with some ill-advised and just plain stupid writing.
1. They took the episode and moment we'd all been eagerly anticipating since S1, and ruined it sejak interweaving DE's Cinta scene with Caroline's shrill ramblings about the sire bond. It should have been perfect, and after waiting so long, I strongly believe that peminat-peminat should have been telah diberi Delena's first Cinta scene uninterrupted, and without the sire bond business looming over their heads like a ticking time bomb that was about to go off and kill everybody on the spot. It took all the shine out of a special moment. I understand that the writers did it to shock us, but I really don't hold Julie and the rest of the producers in high esteem for menunjukkan us, the fans, so little respect. We waited for 4 years for this Cinta scene, and for what? To be scared into thinking that Elena was only sleeping with Damon out of some superficial, hocus pocus bond? It's taken me a long time to admit it, but I hate that they did that. There's no reason why we couldn't have found out about the sire bond in 4x08, atau in a later episode. Why did they have to take Delena's long-awaited Cinta scene and try to manipulate us into thinking that it was something it wasn't? Do anda know how much grief we've had to endure from SE peminat-peminat because of that? To them, this was yet another reason why DE could not, and would not work out. Some truly malicious SE peminat-peminat have even gone so far as to argue that the Cinta scene in 4x07 was the equivalent of drug rape, because Elena was 'influenced' and was not capable of giving her consent. I know that argument is ridiculous, but if the writers and producers hadn't written the Cinta scene that way, then vindictive, spiteful peminat-peminat wouldn't be able to see it like that.
2. They made Elena say 'I Cinta you' to Damon over the phone - and they've never had a proper conversation about it since.
I would rather she'd berkata it face-to-face with him, but when Damon berkata 'Come to me', I was hopeful that they would have a moment together when they could discuss it fully. But as it stands, she berkata "I Cinta you" to Damon FINALLY, and then...nothing. Um, what? Am I missing something? Elena berkata I Cinta anda to Damon! Only...oh right. She's still sired. Apparently, that means that all party arrangements are on hold.
It's like the producers/writers have taken what should have been incredible moments for DE, and then done nothing with them.
3. They keep road-blocking DE every step of the way.
Some people might argue that this is a good sign. Some might say that it's the little things that make DE worth watching, rather than them BEING a couple. But I think the time for the little glances and touches etc has passed. We know how they feel now, so why can't they just be together? I'm fed-up of the writers giving DE lebih and lebih obstacles when the only purpose of them is to prevent Delena from getting together. It was understandable in earlier seasons, but I expect lebih now that SE are broken up and Stefan is no longer keeping them apart. I think this fandom deserves lebih than watching their ship continually going round and round in circles. I want the producers to tunjuk us they're serious about Delena becoming a reality. I want them to put their money where their mouth is and step up to the plate. Yes, I know they've berkata it's a series-long segitiga, segi tiga but Julie and Kevin have berkata other things about the tunjuk that have proved false. There's no reason why they can't end the Cinta segitiga, segi tiga for good sejak 4x22, make DE a couple for the whole of Seasons 5-6, and give Stefan a decent story of his own and a new Cinta interest. If they found a way to keep SE going for the first 2 seasons, then why can't they give us Delena for seasons 5 and 6? I believe the writers have ample material and could easily do it. What I don't want to see is them doggedly pursuing the Cinta segitiga, segi tiga for the last 2 seasons, because every shipper on both sides is sick and tired of it. It is no longer entertaining atau engaging, and there is really no sense in trying to drag it out any further when all it will cause is meaningless damage to all 3 characters.
anda might think I am being a little harsh and anda might disagree. That's just how I feel. I feel that the writers have taken what should have been the greatest season for us and telah diberi us very little pay-off sejak messing us around. But I haven't telah diberi up on DE. They are the true Cinta story of the tunjuk forever in my eyes. But the writers need to get their act together. If they don't, then I worry for them. But not as much as I worry for the peminat-peminat of this amazing ship.
