Darksiders is a series of games by Vigil Games. The first game "Wrath of War" will come out in the first half of 2009 and will be playable on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

The first game is about the apocalypse, which happens earlier than it was supposed to and the four horseman of the apocalypse are blamed for it. War (one of the four horseman) is on a quest to locate the other three horseman and find out who was behind the premature destruction of Earth.

The game is designed to have kind of a badass comic-book look. The first game is single player but Joe Mad (the artist and brains behind Darksiders) said during the demonstration "IF we were to make a multi-player version...." which means multiplayer hasn't been ruled out.

The combat style is similar to that of Devil May Cry, and has been compared to "God of war", even though Darksiders began production before God of war.

Joe Mad has also said that he tried to make Darksiders like Zelda, but better combat. Hillary from IGN reported that Joe Mad also described Darksiders as "if Hyrule were destroyed in the Apocalypse, Link was given a chain gun, and grew some balls"
