Right. Why are illegal drugs illegal?

An adult can decide for themselves whether they want to do something fun and dangerous, can't they?

The problem alcohol atau drug abuse does affect other people. I work at a jail and know that at least 75 percent of the arrests made for assault are alcohol atau drug related.

People don't just use drugs, people tend to abuse drugs.

Illegal drugs are dangerous and they can easily kill people.
Almost anything that can easily kill people is regulated sejak the government.
*Most weapon, though allowed, are regulated. anda need permits atau a license.
*There are traffic laws that help stop accidents.
*Suicide is technically illegal.
*Abuse is illegal
*Even alcohol. A bar has the legal right to cut anda off if they feel you've had too much. Public intoxication atau walking in public with an open container are usually illegal.

I think it only makes sense that most drugs be illegal as well. It doesn't matter if you're an adult atau a juvenile. They can still easily kill you.

Weapons and abuse are people harming other people. Traffic laws are meant to keep everyone safe. But suicide and drug use should be left to one's choice. I don't encourage it, but I don't see how it's anybody's business. And I think drug abuse and addiction should be treated as a health issue, rather than a criminal one.

It's not just drink spiking that can be harmful to others- there are all sorts of drugs that may induce psychotic episodes of some type, posing a danger to others in the vicinity.

Yes I understand your point. People abuse drugs and that causes problems in society like a massive increase in murders, rapes, accidents, overdoses overwhelming the hospitals. Take Coke for example, it started as a soft drink used to heal and for pain, the soft drink is Coke cola, people became addicted to it and crime over whelmed entire community's so it was banned/outlawed,so Coke cola removed the cocaine from there product. It always starts with someone screwing up.
Drugs are illegal because they fog a persons mind, and that person 99% of the time make STUPID choices while on them.
Drug use Hurts Everyone involved, not just the user, but everyone around the user.
Families are Ripped apart because of drugs & alcohol.

The "small" drugs(as weed), are only door openers to"bigger" drugs.

I don't have a problem if someone wants to use drugs, but drugs are known to impair the senses, like alcohol, and can therefore be very dangerous.

But that also opens up the point of, "Why are drugs illegal, while alcohol is not?"
My opinion is that, while alcohol can be very dangerous, there are laws that help make it safer. So why can't there be a law that makes drugs safer to use? The answer to that is very simple. Drinking alcohol is fine, but not drinking it to the point of being an alcoholic, and if anda keep drinking, your risk of becoming an alcoholic increases as well. The same is true for drugs. If someone keeps taking drugs, they will want to take more, and more, and more, until they eventually die atau kill someone, atau both, for that matter.

So all in all. Maybe, MAYBE, once in a blue moon is fine, but definitely not to the point where anda NEED it, like most people who drink.

So my answer in short terms is this:
Drugs are illegal because they are a highly addictive substance that can be fatal when used foolishly.

Well if people want to "do something fun and dangerous" whenever they want, other people get hurt.

If someone uses drugs and then drives home, chances are he/she is going to cause an accident that could really harm atau kill another innocent person.

MDMA is not one of the drugs usually associated with Date-Rape drug. GHB for example is. MDMA makes anda feel like that, but does not impair your sense: anda are still completely in control..

The best answer I can give anda is to protect yourself abd the rrst of society. The law is not concerned with the use of a drug but the effects it has on the person who takes them. Leys consider drugs that are legal such as cigarretes and alcohol. Both of these drugs are linked to lung cancer and the abuse of these drugs has lead to deaths because of being intoxicated atau from too much damage to the heart. These drugs are STILL legal because society socially accepts them. Now illegal drugs such as cocaine and heroine are illegal becahse society hasn't accepted them yet... Laws are then made to enforce this opinion.

The British went to war twice with china to secure our supply of opium, for mr sherlock holmes, thats how we got hong kong tilll the early 90's.

I did read alot of modern prohibition comes from two business men who demonised cannabis/hemp so they could get their new products onto the market, a rope maker and a newspaper magnet who used diffeent paper.

anyway as history has shown us the drug policies dont work, they just make it worse...

btw drugs arent bad anda are brainwashed, its the law and the criminals that are bad. The law creates black markets for criminals to operate only answer LEGALISE.

The illict drugs are not as dangerous as the legal drugs nor many of the prescription drugs o the market, in the UK 140,000 people die due too alcohol and tobacco about 3000-4000 (overestimated rough figure) die due to illegal ones, prescribed drugs are a big problem but i havet got any figures on them, also lebih people die from Peanuts and horseriding in the UK compared to Ecstasy. We do have alot of drug usage(not abuse as that is a term governments use to describe any use but care and educated use of drugs isn't always abuse) in the UK It is estimated that 1 in 3 working adults use cannabis.
