It gets on my nerves when they say she is a genius, and that she learned to control her powers. Uhm, no. Her father gave her tips. And it is not healthy nor smart to keep emotions built up inside. She also ran away from her problems, which also isn't a smart decision. I'm not saying she is an idiot though. Elsa is quick on her feet, especially when the soldiers come after her, but I wouldn't say quick thinking is a for sure sign of intelligence.

I'm sure she's very educated and well-read, but I don't find her exceptionally brilliant. Also, she lets her emotions get the best of her. While that doesn't make her dumb, she does tend to fly into a panic and flee instead of using her wits to make the situation work for her.

I mean, Mulan stared into the jaws of death against the Huns, but she took them out by examining her surroundings and playing the field to her advantage. While Belle wasn't brilliant in how she entered the West Wing and then acted surprised when the Beast reacted poorly, she DID manage to make the castle her home. She was imprisoned by a huge temperamental Beast, but still managed to resist his bullying, befriend the staff, and see and bring out the best in him, and so made the castle a place she stayed on her terms, not his.

Plus, Elsa kind of keeps doing the same thing expecting a different result. Total isolation and suppression didn't work in helping her control her powers for over a decade, so what does Elsa do when Anna comes to her aid? Refuse her help, lock herself up and chant "Conceal, don't feel!" over and over. Yes, Elsa. It hasn't worked for over ten years, but this time it will.
