I thought maybe he was gonna die during the fireplace scene, but I thought they couldn't possibly kill off a comic relief character.

I've been watching/reading a hella lot of sad/gore mangas/anime/webcomic (INCLUDING H O M E S T U C K) and by the time I watched this, yeah, I just thought.

There wasn't much of a point to kill off a comic relief characters. And the toddlers prolly would cry. XD

Frozen ain't no Princess and the Frog. They're not going to take chances or risk upsetting audiences by killing off a goofy sidekick. In fact, from the first few minutes you can tell it's a movie where no one is going to die / there won't be any serious consequences.
