No hate him! He is awful in the beginning, getting himself into situations he could have stayed out of, but of course he simply can't, he's that bad. His character development is incredibly forced, and completely fake! He's not moving up my favorite Disney Prince list anytime soon!

I really wish his ending personality would have happened SOONER! I love his awkward, sweet and romantic side. I love that he would risk his freedom for Bell, that's the Beast I wish I saw more of, but instead in the beginning he's snarky, abusive, okay with letting Belle starve, and more. He treats his servants with little to no respect and when he lets Belle leave and is A-okay with having him stay a beast, but the beast doesn't once consider that he would be leaving all his servants in the castle with him. I agree with Tygers_eyes statements that how a guy treats the ones below him is a true measure of who they are.

Anyway,I love the beast he is my favorite prince! He always has been probably because he's in my favorite princess movie. I like his character and I don't agree with the whole "underdeveloped character" thing I think he is well developed in my opinion! He starts off "course and unrefined" then gradually becomes sweeter as the movie progresses. I mean let's be real here,how much character development do you expect in a 90 minute film? I think his character grew at a pleasing speed. He truly loved Belle that's why it was so easy to change. Even though it was years of hate undone in a week or so. True love always conquers over hate. At least in the movies they do. :D

Yeah, Beast is very well developed and one of Disney's best made characters.

He is abusive and if Belle was not pretty he would not have fallen for her.

My number one favorite prince. Everyone gets on him because he's 'abusive'. He's not abusive! Even though he lost his temper multiple times, he went out and saved Belle's life from the wolves. He gave Belle a gift after admitting that he never felt caring towards someone. He was willing to give up his freedom from the spell for Belle to save her father!

Though i love his design (glenn keane is a genius) and he reminds me of my dog, i cant believe the change he is going through from being a monster to a completely good guy because we never get to see the essence of him that is being shattered because x reason. Why is he how he is? Was he abused?? Abandoned?? What has life doing to him that he treats others so mean and is able to let Belles father die in the dungeon. Its not the fact he is turned into a beast, before he was the same mean person. Put you into it…he is for the second time able to letting someone die (first was the enchantress in the winter storm), he clearly lacks of empathy (basic condition to establish a emotional connection with someone else), but suddenly Belle comes around and he develop it??? Can empathy being develop in first place?? Have to do a research! Second thing that bothered me is the fact that he not defend himself from Gaston because he is sad to death about Belle leaving. Did he learn to appreciate life and accepting and loving himself even if it means being a Beast a whole life? Here aim questioning if he truly loves Belle, because the first rule of loving someone else, is loving you, if you not love yourself than you can’t love anybody else. I have the feeling more than love it was his inner emptiness what Belles filled with her presence….something really common in mislead relationships because people are not together because they love each other but because they are unable to get a life by themselves and are expecting that the person next to them makes their life happier!! Overall I don’t care that deep about the prince characters excepting Aladdin but this are my main thoughts respecting beast. My English is bad, hope you understand.

I like the design of the beast and how he changes from beastly to more human even before his transformation. But...well, I wish there were a little bit more to her personality than "spoiled and now learning to love". What does he like to do? Did he have any hobbies? Where are his parents? For all the screen time he gets, I wish there were some scenes in which we learn more about him.

Favourite prince! I just think it is sad that he was obviously such a jerk before he met Belle, and was ready to just let her go, meaning his servants would stay how they are as well, not just him. Other than that, I like his character, he is adorably awkward as their romance progresses, Disney has finally realised that looks do not matter!
