The filler scenes feel like they're longer and are half of the movie. it doesn't help that all of the filler scenes are the same thing (cat chasing the mice). I don't mind the faeries because at the end of the day they defeat the villain and help in the climax, but the mice..Eh.

I think Sleeping Beauty has more filler, but at least it's enjoyable. The filler in Cinderella is just annoying and detracts from the story.

I actually find the mice scenes quite cute and endearing BUT sometimes I actually forget what scenes are in the movie OTHER than those scenes. They take up half the movie.

It has WAY too much of the mice vs cat scene! THIS ISN'T FREAKING TOM AND JERRY! IT'S CINDERELLA! But at least in Cinderella they better establish Cinderella as a character than Sleeping Beauty does Aurora. But both characters, especially Aurora, could have been established better. Cinderella's personality was established just fine but her emotions about her situation weren't. I guess they were trying to show that she's always trying to stay positive about her situation but I wish they'd go more into how tormented she was. I wish they'd have her mention her mother and father, besides that the pink dress was her mother's. I wish they'd go into how much she misses them and how Cinderella was upset that her mother's dress was destroyed, one of the few things she has left of mother. They also could have made her situation even sadder by making her clothes more ragged instead of just standard servant clothes. Also, in the original story, Cinderella slept on the floor in the kitchen by the fireplace, that's how she got the name Cinderella. I don't think that would be too dark for Disney and actually, after the public had been going through a HARD war, it would have given people hope that everything would turn out right.

They also could have developed Charming in Cinderella. Why no do what they did in Rogers and Hammerstain's Cinderella? Have Charming secretly sneak out of the palace disguised as a peasant and befriend Cinderella. And also have him want to fall in love but to do it in his own way, agrees to the ball but only on the condition that if he doesn't find the girl that he would be allowed to find love in his own way and own time, wants people to like him for who he is and not because he was the prince, develop him and Cinderella's chemistry, and give him a personality. They developed him and Cinderella's chemistry and his personality in A Twist In Time and I wish they had done that in the original. They said they didn't develop the prince very much because he was always the most boring one to do. Well, maybe if they would actually DEVELOP HIM HE WOULDN'T BE BORING! Yeah, cause the boring as hell mice vs cat scenes were SO interesting! NOT!

With Aurora and Phillip, they are so freaking boring! Aurora, while I do now think she has a personality, still has very little personality. They didn't need to take away all the filler but they needed to at least have more scenes to develop Aurora because she's the freaking main character! People say the Fairies were the protagonists but they're really not! The story is SLEEPING BEAUTY, not The Three Good Fairies! I love the scene where she's telling her friends about her dream where she met someone, which apparently makes her over-analyzing fans think that makes her some kind of deep dream psychologist or something, and she's very charming and mischievous. I wanted to see more of that from her and learn more about her. Learn more about her childhood, her relationship with the fairies, her dreams beyond wanting love, wondering about her parents, and her personality. Phillip has no personality, he just did more than the past two Disney Princes. His actions are one thing but his personality is a completely different matter. They also could have developed Aurora and Phillip's chemistry because they have none and just want to be together after knowing each other a few minutes.

Both are very unbalanced films because they have too much filler.
