I can't really pick one because for me to enjoy a character I feel like there needs to be a good balance of both. The reason Rapunzel is my least favorite is because I don't view her as having any real flaws that balance out her dozens upon dozens of virtues. I can't take her seriously because of that. Belle, Tiana, and Merida, on the other hand (my top three), all have a very good balance of both flaws and virtues. They are wonderful characters that I can look up to, but they aren't sugarcoated.

Both are okay. Like MaidofOrleans said, it takes both to make a well-rounded character and to provide dimension to said character. It's just that some characters have more virtues, and other characters have less virtues. And based on what appeals to you, you either like some virtues or you don't. You can tolerate some kinds of flaws, while you don't tolerate others.

That's how you get the catch all phrase: "to each his own."

It's a highly subjective thing, frankly.

I agree that both are needed to make princess feel real but I guess good virtues are better than flaws at the end of the day so I have to pick this.

Too many virtues and you have a boring old Mary Sue.

Even we princesses have flaws, but it is important to grow from them and nurture virtues for good little boys and girls to model after.

agree with maidoforleans, that balance is the key for the character to become relatable. Too many flaws is also not a good character arc.
