An LGBT princess would be nice but realistically I can't see it for another couple decades.
I know there's Elena, but I'd like another Latina princess (actually in the lineup) and/or a Jewish princess.
@disnerdtobe I remember after watching Frozen right before I turned 21 I was surprised to find out she was turning 21 in her movie too :p
When I say a princess who’s not thin, I’m not just saying plus sized, I’m saying women who have muscle too
If you want a plus sized princess that’s still cool :) just want to make it clear on what I meant
I want a princess not in her teens that has a disability, isn't thin, isn't human (maybe a fairy princess?), and maybe one with scars. :)
In particular I would love to see an LGBTQ+ princess, but sadly I think it will be a while before Disney gets around to it cuz they're too scared of offending conservatives.
A couple I'd like to see that aren't on this list: more POC princesses from different cultures, but only if Disney is at least as respectful as they were with Moana; a princess who has a romance in the film but doesn't end up with them in the end, but not because they're evil (coughHanscough) or because circumstance keeps them apart (coughJohnSmithcough), but instead because they realize they aren't right for each other or something along those lines and they part amicably, bonus points if it ends with a budding romance with a new person; also I think a princess in a sci-fi setting could be cool (part of the reason why I'm so sad Kida's not official, since Atlantis gives me kinda sci-fi vibes).
So, that being said, I don't mind Kida, as I like both her and Esmeralda a zillion times more than I do Elsa.
It's just that Disney doesn't "handle age" in a nice way, if the person is a protagonist. In my opinion, they used to do this really well, back in the Renaissance Era. But not so, now.
And some of MaidofOrleans points, seem good. Kinda agree with the doesn't-have-to-be-evil to have a breakup, and the circumstances-keep-them-apart thing sucks, and we've seen it, already. I just think a budding romance with someone ( the way it was handled in Mulan) would be sufficient. Romance doesn't have to be the focus of the film, but it does have to be in the mix, for me to enjoy the film itself.
