Snow White, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and The Beast are all highly improtant for their own reasons Snow Whites the original and TLM and BATB pulled disney out of their economic crisis

They're all important princess movies.
Snow White - The first animated feature film, the one that started it all.
Cinderella - Saved the company. If Cinderella had failed, Disney would have been done.
The Little Mermaid - Marked the start of the Disney Renaissance, although the movement was predated by Oliver & Company
Beauty and the Beast - One of Disney's most iconic and successful movies.
The Princess and the Frog - The first Disney movie in years to return to classic 2D animation.

PATF is very important, being the first with an African American princess as well as ushering back 2D animation to the studios. However, it's historical importance to animation and disney isn't as large as all the others.

There's nothing important about BatB. PatF is VERY important. It's the first 2D Disney film in forever AND it's the first black princess. How can that be less important than BatB? :/

beauty and the beast is one of the most famous and succefull disney films, it was nominated for an oscar as best movie something no other animated film had donde before

PatF isn't that good, yeah is the return to 2D but that is the only somewhat important thing I see in it, and in my opinion that Tiana is the fisrt black princess is not important to me at all I think people make a lot of fuss about that, yeah she is black so what, jasmine and pocahontas weren't white, mulan is asian, so yeah I son't see whats so great about her being black

I agree with luinwen. So what?!! Plus the movie didn't really make a difference to animation or Disney overall. And it wasn't even that good to be honest! ;)

@luinwen: actually, UP was nominated for best movie too. But Beauty and the Beast was still the first.

PaTF is very important, but it's overall contributions to animation aren't as large. There have been plenty of other black animated characters- just because she's the first Disney Princess doesn't make her movie more important than BatB.

Really, I LOVE PaTF, but it isn't as important as the others left.

UP was special. That was the first year the academy awards nominated 10 movies for best picture, way more than the usual. Had the kept it to their usual amount, UP would most likely have not been nominated.
