Cinderella's been suffering since her father's death but her Fairy Godmother only appears to give a dress (and slippers, and etc). The fairy godmother is a deux ex machina, which is something that appears from no-where to solve everything-it's the thing you pull when you don't know how to solve a story. I know that's because that's how the fairy tale goes, but still, the fairy godmother should go
