A new 13-episode series, scheduled for broadcast in 2011, was confirmed sejak executive producer Piers Wenger in the March 2010 edition of Doctor Who Magazine. Filming is to start in July 2010. Matt Smith will return as the Doctor for the entire run, and Karen Gillan will also reprise her role as Amy Pond.This will be the first time in the series’ revival that both the Doctor and his companion remain unchanged from one series to the next. penulis Neil Gaiman has written an episode for the first half of the 2011 series, and has confirmed that his story will begin filming in August 2010.

Barneysmeg Its about time, like you said every season different companion or doctor, season 1 ninth doctor regenerates, season 2 Rose gets trapped in a parallel universe, season 3 Martha leaves, Season 4 Donna forgets. And I like Amy, I really do my favourite companion ever and Matt Smith as The Doctor its going really well. I know we've got three more episodes of Season 5 to go and I just know they'll be brilliant and a christmas special, but I just have to say bring on Season 6

accioguitar Wow this is cool! The US is only halfway thru Season 5 and to find out that Season 6 is starting soon? Yay :) And it's good to know that the Doctor and companion will be the same.

ellie_bellie135 The final was a bit wierd actually. From my experiance Dr Who finals are suposed to leave you feeling gutted and depressed, whereas this one left me feeling pleased and anticipant. Hmmmm. Funny. I liked it. I'm looking forward to the Doctor/Amy/Rory dynamic. Should be good. I liked how it was only a half final, sort of. We've still got lots to look forward to - the voice in the TARDIS, the silence, River. Should be very interesting, tho I have a feeling that the Season 6 Final is gonna be like a kick in the guts.

ttexy1 I do hope that Season 6 will NOT be the end of my Doctor Who,in my eyes,it's become part of the world as we know it;sort of like chocolate......(and where would the world be without chocolate,hmmmm,I don't EVEN wanna know,lol!)
