If youre going to get technical, twilight isnt the book for you, lol. I mean anda could go all out and say that scientifically vampirism is impossible, but anyway. If anda think about it, being that cold is just the vampire body temperature, in the same way that humans have body temperature. We maintain ours through the process of homeostasis, and although Stephenie never actually tells us, I assume that her Vampires have the same mechanism in their bodies, to maintain a constant temperature. Also, I seem to remember how when Bella touches him, it feels like his skin is burning? So maybe when she touches him his skin temperature changes a little, but returns to normal as soon as she takes her hand away, whilst his actual body temperature is maintained. Im not really sure, this is just my guess. I try not to think too scientifically, because I mean, how many things in twilight are physically impossible, and if I analysed it all I wouldnt enjoy the fact that its just a fiction novel :)
