In a baru-baru ini interview in Barcelona Mashima berkata these two things:

- When asked why he gave his protagonists the names of each season(Natsu,Haru) he responded that he wanted non-Japanese readers to learn some words in Japanese.

- When asked about the possibility of Natsu and Lucy ending up together, Mashima responded sejak revealing the name of their child; Nashi

1. Nashi: Takes the Na in Natsu and the Shi in the Japanese way of Penulisan Lucy’s name which is Rushi

wolfmaster3000 Doesn't nesscairly mean it's Cannon I mean it's a strong enough Theory but Fairy tail is like One peice it doesn't need couples and the fan base IS SO HUNG UP ON IT that it's ruining talking about the seris to a certain point. esstainly it'd be no different than when you dangle your keys to get some ones attention just a pointless plot point in my opinion unless he has some where to go with "Nashi".

Black_kitty I don't want it to happen! Nalu fans don't hate me but it's a bit cliche'ish. BTW that isn't the reason why I don't ship Nalu. :]

wishey I dont really know what to think about this. I have a feeling that hes just doing this because the fans want it as well. This couples okay in my book, but I honestly would prefer their awesome friendship then them being in a relationship. But thats just me.

T_ballack Oh, men, this doesn't prove anything to be honest, i'd still like to see it for myself, because a natsu x lucy lover like the person creating this forum might have simply misinterpreted what was meant, it's not unlikely, to bt honest it is very likely the case.

DracoCloud Hate me or not NaLu fans, but I rather not say it's the best couple. In fact it's cliche to make the Main and other Main become a couple, serious people. To be honest, they did say Semi-canon. If it's a go, then whatever. The show just got less exciting if NaLu is official. Too many couples, can't they just be like close Nakama? Like Luffy protects Nami. Oh whatever, you may hate this post, flag it if you want NaLu fans. But in my defense, it's cliche and getting quite old. They did it many times in other animes with a female main and male main. Why do it to the best anime I watched? Serious people, serious. They may have responded with the child's name, but did not answer 100% They asked the POSSIBILITY not the child's name. Thank you, my work here is done. BTW I do not ship NaLu, I do not ship anything. I get annoyed of this sometimes, I hate to see a good anime go to waste with couples. You don't see One Piece planning couples anytime soon! Yeah maybe Nami and Luffy, but Luffy just cares of his Nakama 100% Now if I may be excused from here. Please do not be rude and say I'm just jealous of couples, I'm here to speak up for the fans who love the show. Not the couples.

saiko1 Hello? I bet hiro mashima was jus joking abt the possibity of nalu. Btw, "nashi" means "pear" in japanese.(I asked a japanese friend.) He also drew natsu and erza bathing tgt, not natsu and lucy, if some of you guys haven't read chpt. 355.

Red_Fairy_Panda ^ LOL joking? We'll see about that. And what's wrong with pear? Nashi is a combination from Natsu and Lucy. And who the hell cares about Natsu and Erza bathing scene made by Mashima-sensei just for a comic relief? It's not like after bathing Erza fall in love with Natsu and Natsu fall in love with Erza lol. Don't forget that Mashima-sensei made six special chapters about Natsu and Lucy, not Natsu and Erza. The first thing popped in his head when he think about FT movie is Natsu and Lucy hugging, not Natsu and Erza. Remember that Natsu and Lucy already share a naked embrace, not Natsu and Erza. And remember other hints and pics he made is Natsu and Lucy, not Natsu and Erza~ :p

NALUISLIFE Well. I am a HARDCORE Nalu fan but, Hiro Mashima said that he didn't thought of it. BUT! Nashi is the combination of Natsu and Lucy(Rushi) 's name. So it is a coincedence that the meaning of that name is pear. Some childrens's name had a far more ridiculous meaning then that. And we nalu fans don't need that. We have a lot (and when I say a lot I mean A LOT) . My shipping taste is all about LOGIC.
