INTERESTING to hear this week Liverpool striker Fernando Torres talking about the difference between coaching in Spain and England.

He said: 'Rafa (Benitez) has coached in England and Spain and the ideas are the same.

'But, the difference is that in Spain he is a coach whereas at Liverpool he is the manager, the coach, the one who signs the players, the one who oversees the youth system and the one who decides who is on his coaching staff.

'(Sir Alex) Ferguson and (Arsene) Wenger are examples that in England, even when anda do not win things, managers are telah diberi time.'

No wonder he went on to say: 'I think Benitez is going to be at Liverpool for a long time.'

Let's face it - if Benitez was at Barca, they would probably have sacked him long ago.

Torres has made an amazing start at Liverpool with 30 goals in his first season.

Great for him, great for Liverpool and not bad for his Atletico Madrid.

His old club has made an extra 750,000 euros ($1.6 million) out of his sale for that very reason.

THERE was a time when it seemed Robinho was the most important player at Real Madrid.

The Brazilian was the bintang of the first half of the season and when he got injured two months ago, it coincided with Real's worst run of form.

But things change quickly at Real and it seems Robinho's good form has gone out the window...literally!

It appears that the Brazilian winger is leaving Real Madrid's Cuidad de Futbol training complex every hari through a 40cm window to avoid speaking with the press and staff at the training ground.

Having Lost his place to Arjen Robben, it seems, as well as the window, he could also be heading for the door.

Fifa rules stipulate that if a player serves the first three years of his contract, he can then get himself out of his club if he gives it two weeks' notice before the end of the season.

Which ever way anda look at it, Robinho seems to be heading for a less than fitting exit.

IN a survey of Barca peminat-peminat this week, only seven per cent berkata they wanted Thierry Henry to start against Manchester United in their Champions League semi-final first-leg clash on Wednesday.

Argentine Leo Messi, Samuel Eto'o and 17-year-old Bojan Krkic was the preferred attack of over 4,000 peminat-peminat who voted on Barca sports' tabloid Mundo Deportivo.

Henry complained last week that he was losing his eye for goal because he was being played on the left hand side of Barcelona's attack.

Surely he knew before he came that Barca play with a front three and that a certain Mr Eto'o was the central striker.

The same Eto'o sejak the way who last week made it 14 goals in 14 games - a phenomenal record for a player who has had another injury-disrupted season.

The buildup to this game was dominated sejak the very public fallout in the Liverpool boardroom. Reds manager Rafa Benitez, who made three changes from the midweek Champions League victory over Arsenal, had to do without the suspended Javier Mascherano, while Daniel Agger, Harry Kewell and Jermaine Pennant were all injured.

Jason Roberts passed a late fitness test for Blackburn, and started up-front alongside Roque Santa Cruz. David Dunn was only fit enough to sit on the bench.

There was a minit silence before the game to mark the nineteenth anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster, when 96 Liverpool...

IF THERE is a better partnership in English football at the moment than Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres I certainly haven’t seen it.

The fact that they have both been nominated for PFA player of the tahun speaks volumes about what a wonderful season they have both had and everyone connected with Liverpool should be delighted to have them.

The PFA awards are the most prestigious in this country as far as the players are concerned because they are voted for sejak your peers in the game.

Clearly, there are many players in England who think that Gerrard and Torres are up there with the very best and I would definitely agree with that.

We saw again at the weekend just how good they are when both of them got their names on the score sheet against Blackburn at Anfield.
