The Return of Godzilla
Hedorah’s Revenge

Prologue

Darkness. Darkness everywhere. Not a spark of life anywhere, nothing to be seen here. Until...A awan of blackness took form and became a tiny living organism, just harmless and inert. All the life form could do was slowly feed off the pollutants here until it was big and strong enough for its appetite to take it elsewhere. Eventually the creature did run short of toxic nourishment, but sejak this time it was grown enough to migrate to lebih abundant lands. This place was different from others, however. Although heavily polluted, some lebih tolerant forms of life were still able to exist here. The creature soon took care of that. Expelling a deadly poisonous gas, the beast asphyxiated the remaining life here, the whole area of waters all to itself now. The life form did not know who atau what it was, nor the significant impact it would soon have on this ecosystem, but it knew one thing; it would stop at nothing to feed itself and grow larger and lebih powerful, when it would then explore the vast world above it. And, something else too.
Though it did not know why, it craved one other thing;
Revenge.

Chapter 1

Akani sighed as she gazed out the window of the conference room. She cared very much about the welfare of the planet, for she was a professional environmentalist and ecologist, but she knew that soon enough she would find herself debating herself to these people. “Akani, anda just can’t do it. It’s against my orders. I told anda to stay out of this business, and what do anda do? anda get yourself in over your head.” The Prime Minister shook his head. “I must say I’m rather disappointed, Akani. You’re a sensible young woman, and yet anda behaved like a mad person!”
“Prime Minister, why can’t anda allow it? Why!? Do anda not care about the health of the planet, a place where our children will grow up someday? Shouldn’t it be of the best possible quality for our kids?” Akani cried. The governor threw up his hands.
“There anda go again! Don’t anda learn? Here I am trying to protect anda from the blood-thirsty government, and yes, I did say blood-thirsty, and here anda are trying to argue again!”The Prime Minister sighed, then turned towards Akani.
“Yes, I Cinta the planet greatly, believe me, but I will not ask them to make such a law that, trust me, will stir up even lebih of a riot in the public.” The Prime Minister buried his head in his hands. All this trouble because of just a little insecticide on the crops, some mercury in the sea, so what? Akani, although the most heated and persistent in demanding laws for the protection of certain areas of Japan, was certainly not the first tree-hugging protester. Everyone just did their best to ignore the rising smog problem occurring over the country. Tokyo had it the worst, then Osaka.
“Look, leave the government up to me. I’ll do my best to convince them to let anda be. But you’ll have to promise me to stay out of this for a while, okay?”
“Akani?”
She didn’t respond.
“Hey, I’ll tell anda what. I will personally purchase anda a plane ticket to the United States so anda can go stay over there for a while, let things simmer down here, and do your environmental work there. How does that sound?”
Finally Akani responded.
“How soon could anda get me there?”

Of course, when Akani’s little sister Elera Miyuki heard her big Sis was going to be flying to America, she demanded to go too.
“Oh Elera, please don’t make this a pain for me. anda know anda can’t go! Where would anda even get the money, and what would anda do while there?”
“Well...I do have a few savings in my reserve account.” Elera said.
“Oh no Elera. Not your savings! Those were for college!” Akani protested.
“Yeah, and I wanted to go to an American college to get the best education. Come on Akani, you’ve got to let me go with you! anda have to!” Elera whined.
And it happened that Akani had a pain-in-the-rear companion to travel with her to the foreign, but special place of the United States.

Akani could not believe her eyes when the plane touched down in the Los Angeles International Airport in the overwhelmingly hot, but beautiful state of California. A thick, gray-brown haze hung above the city, like an omen threatening the human race to clean up their act before real trouble started brewing It was no better than home! But of course, that’s why she was here; the aid the U.S. in repairing the planetary damage. “That’s photochemical smog, caused sejak a large amount of carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide being constantly pumped into the atmosphere. I’m rather concerned about this,” Akani breathed.
“But what will anda do? I mean, how will anda stop it?” Akani’s curious sister asked.
“I don’t know, Elera. But trust me, I’m going to have a talk with someone here about it. This is where the Prime Minister sent me,” Akani replied.
Elera looked nervous. Akani laughed. “Don’t worry little Sis, I’ll be sane. Enough.”

Chapter 2

Tokyo, Japan
Classified Research Facility

The room was dimly lit, a thick dinding of bulletproof plexiglass separating the researchers from the research. And the research was something far from ordinary.
“Bring in the test subject,” barked a gruff man dressed in a stark white lab coat, mid-forties. Two younger colleagues, ranking lower than the doctor, opened a plexiglass and stainless-steel door to reveal a strange subject. There was a reason the plasma-protected ceilings in here were so high. The test subject was a curious-looking creature, actually rather wicked seeming, about twelve feet in height. Bound in steel, anti-plasma shackles and chains to prevent its trying to escape, the monster creature was led to the center of the room where it was carefully tethered to an iron stake. A doctor in his early thirties with a large hospital-syringe in hand approached the monster in the center of the room. “Tell, me, what is this serum anda have here?” The grumpy older man demanded.
“We call it shape-shifting serum, atau SS11 for short. It took eleven attempts to perfect the serum’s formula, “replied the young doctor.
“And what, may I ask, does this ‘shape-shifting’ serum do?” The cranky doctor asked.
The young doctor smiled at him.
“It has the capability of converting the monster anda see here,” he said, gesturing to the creature in the experiment room, “Into a normal-size human being, sort of abnormal looking, telah diberi their natural beast DNA, but still, it works. It only lasts 48 hours, however, and an even shorter span of time for much larger creatures, say, Godzilla.”
The older professor shook his head. “Young people,” he muttered.
“Giving human DNA a temporary dominance within its nucleus empowers it and makes it stronger than even the monster DNA, and there is an interim dominance over the monster’s genes. The genes don’t go away; rather, they are slightly replaced, and their power fades away, converting the creature to a human-like being. When the effects of the serum wear off, the human gene cells gradually die, their energy revives the monster cells, and those cells regain dominance. Thus, the animal reverts to its original form.” The biologist explained.
“At least, that’s the abridged version. I shouldn’t think you’d care to hear it unabridged.”
No, the crusty guy certainly didn’t. He didn’t fail biology class for the fun of it.
The young doctor handed the lower-ranking colleagues the metal syringe, which contained a strange shade of light purple fluid in it, and they took the syringe to the squirming monster’s carotid artery and plunged the needle in. The creature froze for a second, stunned. Slowly the serum flowed into its bloodstream, and for a moment that felt like an eternity, everyone was still. And then a miracle took place. The monster’s features began to morph and twist into human-like features until…
The creature had successfully converted! Now a short little stubby man with bright golden eyes and an olive-complexion faced the pleased younger doctor, startled older one, and smirking colleagues. The older doctor demanded to know if this serum had yet been tested on one of the world’s giant monsters.
“Yes, actually,” the young one answered. “The huge spider, Kumonga, was our first and, so far, only giant monster test subject. We have him quarantined right now in one of our lebih durable environments. “
“Is...he intelligent?”
“Being simply a bug, no, and sometimes he forgets to eat atau drink, so we have to issue a feeding tube and IV bag to him to keep his vital signs safe. Being rather unintelligent, human Kumonga is unable to speak as well,” the thirty-year old informed them.
The old crusty guy threw his hands up and laughed.
“Do anda know what this MEANS??” He cried.
“If we could somehow find a way to inject a whole vat-full of this stuff into our worst nightmare, Godzilla, then we could finally have a chance to defeat and destroy him!” The grouchy old coot was now jumping for joy like an ecstatic schoolboy.
“Exactly right,” the young one said, smiling with a spark of wicked pleasure in his bright eyes.
That’s when the windows suddenly shattered.

Chapter 3

After calling up her mother to inform her of her whereabouts, Akani and her sister took to exploring the vast ocean of towering metal and brick that was Los Angeles.
“Despite the smog, people seem quite busy and happy here,” Elera commented.
“They’re deliberately being ignorant of what they’re doing,” Akani muttered. Seeing the sights and almost being run over sejak several psycho drivers took the steam out of Akani and Elera, so the two decided to have lunch at the Grand Opening of a new family restaurant, Cici’s Seafood. The little red-brick building from the early 20th century was adorable bedecked in rustic antiques and materials from old crabbing ships, like old buoys and ketam pots. But the antiques and odd decor was not what caught Elera’s attention. What caught her attention was the handsome young man whom the sisters were seated with at the restaurant because of the crowding in there. He was dressed semi-casually, sporting formal black work shoes and an inexpensive linen baju with no tie, as well as tan slacks. His rich, wavy hair oddly light grey, but obviously not artificial, was actually pretty attractive on the man. He looked flustered crammed in that little booth there, but immediately flashed the two a dazzling white smile when they approached the table. Elera returned the smile, twice as flirtatious, twice as meaningful. She was instantly taken sejak him; he hadn’t even had to open his mouth!
“Hello ladies,” the man greeted them, something of an accent, but not exactly, in his voice. He directed his gaze to Elera, scrutinizing her every detail.
“And what, may I ask, is your name miss?” The man asked her.
Elera batted her eyelashes. She certainly did look lovely when she did that.
“Elera.” She answered him. He was clearly taken with her too. “And you?” She said.
“Jack,” He replied,” “Jack Townsend. I work as a part-time professor at UCLA here. A nice job. College kids aren’t so moody and nasty after all,” he said, making Elera laugh.
“I’m from Japan, Tokyo actually. I’m here with my sister on her work trip/vacation, I’m not really sure which,” she told him.
“Really? You’re from Jepun too? No wonder anda looked so nice,” Jack commented. Elera blushed and stifled a girlish giggle, but Jack didn’t look embarrassed at all. He continued smiling at Elera, all his attention on her now, and she asked to sit beside him.
Akani thought her sister’s sudden new Cinta interest was cute, even precious. She couldn’t keep her eyes off him. Akani felt uneasy about Jack at first, but his gentle charisma and flattery towards Elera, even Akani, made her warm up instantly. Jack didn’t talk much about his job, only berkata he liked college kids and told them he was a chemistry teacher (Elera grinned wolfishly at that), but asked Elera far too many soalan about herself and her life, which only boosted her sister’s ego even more. Long after meals and drinks were ordered and eaten up did the three remain there at the booth, until finally Jack insisted on paying for all of them. Akani found him to be quite a gentleman, actually, which is why she didn’t object when he offered to take the two to the Filem that late afternoon.. As the two walked to the cinema house after their lunch, Elera reached out her hand and took Jack’s hand in hers, a soft smile on her lips. Jack smiled too, but for an instant there, something, was it fear, flashed in Jack’s eyes, and then they were warm and light chocolate-brown again. The movie house was enormous, like nothing the sisters had ever seen before, and Elera was clearly impressed.
After watching the cheap sci-fi thriller, Akani and, reluctantly, Elera berkata their thank yous and goodbyes.
When Elera finally emerged from inside the cinema, Jack coming out to say his farewells, she was clutching a small folded piece of paper in her little hands.
“What is that?” Akani asked. Elera grinned, cheeks flushed ruby-red with excitement and eyes bright, as she replied, “His phone number.”

When the two reached their hotel residence later that night, Akani, absolutely exhausted from the busy, bustling hari and crowded, noisy streets (Don’t forget the crazy drivers), collapsed onto the queen-size katil and buried her face in her pillow. Elera, as anda might expect, was eagerly chatting Jack’s ear off over the phone, until he finally, whether it was simply an excuse to get away atau not, informed her he needed to retire for the evening.
“Akani, Akani, he wants to see me again late tomorrow! We’re gonna go to makan malam, majlis makan malam tomorrow night!
Elera cried. Akani groaned and sat up in bed, wishing for a melatonin right about now.
“That’s wonderful, Elera honey, I’m so glad anda found something to do while you’re here,” Akani replied, truly happy for her sister, as well as glad she didn’t have to entertain her the entire time she was here. Elera, in lebih ways than one, was still just a child, only twenty-one years old, gullible for Cinta lebih than anything, and unfortunately easy to mislead. For even bright girls were highly susceptible to heartbreak, especially with this whole ‘love at first sight’ thing. Still, Akani trusted Jack lebih than other males Elera had ever had anything to do with, to see how excited and eager she was and be gentle with her. Yes, he would do that, she thought.
Jack was a real nice guy.

Chapter 4

After Elera’s tarikh with Jack at 7:00pm, she returned hand on her chest, eyes half-closed looking absolutely dreamy.
“So, how was it Miss Popular?” Akani asked teasingly.
“Oh, Akani, I think I Cinta him, I really do. He got me sushi, kari and rice, and a large Mellow Yellow! She indicated the soda she was sucking down at a furious pace. And told me I was adorable. Then he drove me home, wasn’t that nice of him?” She said. “I wanted to see him again, like tomorrow, but he’s busy, so he berkata in two days he can. I really do like him, Akani,” Elera told her, her eyes big and wide.
“I’m very happy for anda Elera, but try not to rush into things, okay?”

The rank, musty odor would have clogged anyone else’s lungs here. It looked as if no one had been here for many long years. The old generator was rusty and stained with streaks of black, God knows what it was. Electricity had stopped flowing through these old wires a long time ago, and broken glass, garbage, dirt, dust, and grime littered the place everywhere, not a spot untouched sejak the nastiness. Rodents had nested in the nooks and crannies, thick, dusty cobwebs strung from dinding to wall.
A shadowy figure moved nearby. Something lurked in here, something dark, evil. Something slithered in the darkness, leaving behind it a trail of black muck. A living blob of dark sludge scooted itself across the cracked cement, devouring old cans of motor oil and antifreeze in its path. Then the figure changed. In its place stood the eerie silhouette of a man.
Another man joined him in the murky shadows, appearing as if out of nowhere.
“Get the rest of the vials,” the first man, the taller and lankier one growled. Indeed, the ancient buildings of Los Angeles contained many secrets, but this old factory easily harbored the most terrifying of all.

Monster Island, Pacific Ocean
Coordinates: Classified

Monster Island, the most heavily monitored and highly classified island in the world. A place not even some of the greatest INTERPOL agents know about. The place where the world’s daikaiju existed in somewhat-perfect harmony. And two of those monsters had just escaped. The lead guard captain shouted into his Walkie-Talkie, screaming that two of the island’s beasts had just barreled through the protective electric force field barrier, out of their very sheltered captivity, and were now headed towards Japan. One of them was a flier, that giant rainbow-colored butterfly-creature, with the weird, supposedly sacred markings on its wings. What was its name? Oh, right, Mothra. And the other...The captain didn’t even want to mention the other. A creature built of powerful muscle and sheer brute force, with api, kebakaran in his Bones and raging in his vengeful heart, irradiated and consumed sejak cosmic radioactive power in its most concentrated form...The captain gulped as he watched the enormous charcoal-colored brute slip into the sea waters, waves like little tsunamis springing up from the contact.
“Hey Carl. What about the other monster?”
Carl tried to talk, his mouth dry from fear.
“G-Godzilla. It’s Godzilla!”
Nothing lebih needed to be said.

Screams.
pahit wails of fear and the agony that was to come.
Hot footsteps pounding the pavement.
Children crying, their mothers desperately trying to console them while relying solely on their own two feet to take them away from this living nightmare.
They hoped to wake up.
Tokyo was under attack. Again. But then, when wasn’t it? Giant monsters had put this city under siege time and time again, it was almost routine.
But Godzilla hadn’t attacked in over a decade. Why did it decide to strike now?
A deafening roar erupted from the monster’s cavernous mouth with rows of spiky, sharp, serrated fangs, lightning ripping from the sky as if responding to the King’s call.
The monster’s silver back spines, once thought to be its dorsal fins, lit up a brilliant blue color, like the color of the sea on a clear day, but much lebih illuminated. The beast’s breath was released on the innocence beneath it, and it regarded humans as humans regard mosquitoes; little pests, pests not worthy of their existence. A huge reptilian foot stamped down upon a cafe. Flames sparked and smoke rolled up to the skies, but Godzilla wasn’t finished.
Oh no.
Once more, the bright blue nuclear power flowed to the surface of his spines, to his mouth, and relinquished upon the world of structure he gazed so furiously upon. api, kebakaran blazed hotly in anger in the King’s hazel, gold-flecked eyes. Intelligent eyes that understood, that remembered the pain and the agony of those souls Lost in the Great War, that glared at the little fleeing bodies with scrutiny and much distaste. This monster wasn’t simply obliterating Tokyo for sport.
For one thing, he still burned with an overwhelming api, kebakaran of revenge.
For another, he was after something.
Godzilla bowled right through the city, relentlessly, mercilessly grounding to powder lebih buildings, lebih lives, lebih of Japan’s history. Geez, how many times did Tokyo have to rebuild the Japanese Diet Building?
Fighter jets streaked across the skies like a swarm of angry wasps, prepared to lock onto their target and api, kebakaran away.
Over the horizon the terror went, leaving the remaining citizens who were still alive to wonder, Where was it going, and What would it do next?

Elera was with Jack. Again. Akani wondered just if and when the poor guy would get exhausted from all the attention she rained upon him, also constantly demanding his. At least she refilled his Attention well. The two were always together, off doing this thing and that, and of course, since her mother despised uttering such topics, Akani felt it was her duty to bring it up to Elera.
“You wouldn’t be doing anything you’re not supposed to do,
right Elera?” She’d asked her.
“Oh Akani, that’s nasty, no, of course not! I’m not the promiscuous type, anda know that, and neither is Jack! No, uh uh. Not my thing,” Elera replied, clearly upset Akani would even ask such a thing.
Akani sighed. She loved her sister very dearly, very much, and cherished her little sis’s sweet innocence almost as much as Elera did. However, Elera just might be the type to fall for the whole, “If anda really Cinta me,” thing. But, Elera was adamant that nothing was going on, so Akani dropped it.
Now Akani was at the hotel alone plotting how she would approach one of the American government officials about the pollution issue. Los Angeles certainly had a problem, that was for sure.

Two conspicuously dressed individuals roamed the city, apart from one another. The tall, broad-shouldered one with muscular build and trim waist, obviously a man, slipped his fingers into his pocket and stroked the butt of his gun. Good, it was still there. The thing was fully armed and loaded should he get himself into any twisty knots, and the safety was securely on. He was an observant man, and though he tried to lay low in this overpopulated hellhole, he sensed that something was watching him. The fine hairs on the nape of his neck bristled, and so did his temper. it was right behind him. The man clenched his teeth in his firm, square jaw, uttered a low, guttural growl that vibrated deeply in his chest cavity, and he whipped around to confront his pursuer. The man stared, flummoxed, at the sight before him.
The thing that had been stalking him was a woman. She was pretty good-looking, too.
VERY good-looking, in fact. There was not a trace of makeup on her heart-shaped face, and her beauty was purely natural. She had a thin, curvy waist that caught his attention, and was wearing a short, breezy orange-and-yellow summer dress. Her hair was thick and toasty blonde, a little darker than regular dark blonde, almost like a light, golden-brown, and she had bangs that hung across the side of her head, just above her eyebrows. But her stunning hair and exquisite body wasn’t what he noticed the most on her. Her eyes were a brilliant, royal blue, and they had a rich and lovely, warm and maternal quality to them that nearly took the man’s breath away.
“Hello, Your Majesty,” She giggled, in a pretty, tinkly wind-chimes voice.
“Who are anda and why are anda following me?” The man demanded, allowing his hot temper to blind him from the girl’s even hotter looks.
The woman flashed him a smile, a warm, but also slightly mischievous one.
“I’m disappointed anda can’t see who I am,” the woman said, batting her lush eyelids and widening her alluring blue eyes again. There was something vaguely familiar about those eyes…
“I’ll give anda a hint,” the woman suggested, tinkering with a silver rama-rama, taman rama-rama choker clasped round her slender neck.
“You’d be surprised to know that I escaped from Prison and followed anda here...Godzilla.”

“Akani!” An alarmed voice called. Akani was lying unconscious in the middle of daisy-infested meadow. She was groggy and weak, and up above her was an ominous, steely gray sky that looked lebih inviting than teh with Kaiser Ghidorah. Suddenly, the sky darkened even more, turning tar black, and the clouds swirled above her in a tornado formation. Akani was filled to the brim with trepidation. Then, the ground collapsed from underneath her, not able to support another ounce of life upon it, and Akani found herself in a different world. All the vegetation was gutted from the ground, and done over with pavement and asphalt. Trees were being chopped down, forest fires were raging, the sea was ridden with trash and sewage, and it smelled rank, like the stench of death and decay. Baby Haiwan were crying for their mothers, unable to understand the cruelty of the world.
Thick, brown smog blotted out the brightness of the sun, and gradually, all life on planet Earth began to die. And in the midst of the hazy smog, two glowing, ruby-red eyes, like those of a satanic monster, glittered maliciously in the fading light of the world, and the creature’s eyes squinted as it laughed at the demise of the world.
The nightmare ended in cold darkness, as the world met its pahit end.
Akani heard the voice again.
“Akani….Akani!”
Akani’s eyelids fluttered open, and she found herself face-to-face with her sister Elera. Elera looked panicked.
W-What is it?” Akani asked groggily.
“Akani-Jack’s disappeared!”
