Okay, Books 1-8 and the Prequel were written by Cecily von Ziegesar.
She was the original writer, she came up with the characters, plot, story, everything.
Then after the 8th book she past it along to a ghost writer, which is someone who writes books without credit. The ghost writer finished the series and wrote books 9-12.
So, if you HAVE read the books, you decide which of the books you enjoyed more. If you haven't read the books, then just go to the next pick...
