Hugh’s birthday was coming up and he had to go back to London. They were in the middle of shooting new episodes of House but he decided to take a 2 days break. He packed his personal stuff from the set and closed the door of his room.
He was walking through a corridor as he bumped into Lisa.
“Oh, you’re leaving so soon?” she berkata surprised seeing a small bag in his hand.
“Yes, my flight leaves in 3 hours.”
“You didn’t even come around to say goodbye and I've never gotten a chance to give anda a present.” Lisa stepped up on a smile.
“I didn’t want to say goodbye to you.” He dropped his head.
“What do anda mean?” she really didn’t know what he meant. He was leaving LA so many times before, sometimes twice in a week if that was necessary.
He didn’t answer.
“Oh cheer up, your birthday are coming up” she stroked his arm as he lifted his head and look at her. “C’mon, I’ll give anda a present.”
“You really didn’t have to….”
“C’mon.” she was already a few steps from him, going to her room. He took a deep breath and followed her.
As they walked in and Lisa opened her closet, Hugh closed the door behind him, putting his bag on the floor. She took out a big box, wrapped sejak a blue paper.
“This is not what I want on my birthday.” He berkata quite gruff.
“But… anda haven’t open it yet.” Her smile suddenly disappeared and she didn’t know what to say.
He came closer to her, not touching her but close enough to feel her breath on his chest and then neck.
“I was hoping we won’t see each other before I left LA.” He stopped as his eyes were running looking into hers. He knew she won’t say anything right now “The truth is I hate going back there. I hate it that you're not around. I hate it when I can’t look at anda and see your smile. I hate it when I can’t call anda and even hear your voice. I hate this feeling in my chest when I think about leaving anda just for one day. And I hate myself now for telling anda this to feel better.” At the end of his words he almost whispered and Lisa’s eyes covered with tears.
“You really shouldn’t have told me this” she said, taking his head into her hands and Ciuman him passionately as a tear-drop was running down her cheek.
He broke the Ciuman for a second.
“That’s what I want on my birthday. That’s all I ever wanted…”
