Being 6 am, Hugh decided to get up to see if David called. There was no reception on the bedroom so he went to the living room. There he could see Lisa lying asleep in a couch, she was trembling, probably from the cold. He smiled and went to sit seterusnya to her. He slid his hand above her cheek making her flinch. He noticed the blanket on bahagian, atas of the coffee meja, jadual took it and placed it over the small figure of Lisa.
Hugh went into the dapur and Lisa slowly opened her eyes, wandering over the room to see if Hugh was still around, he wasn’t but she could feel his steps. They were a low pace and hallow, then they became stronger and Lisa knew Hugh was in the room, she closed her eyes away avoiding him.
“I saw the light which reflected in your eyes.” He berkata as he sat seterusnya to her. She kept her eyes closed. “Are anda going to avoid me?” He continued, “I thought-“ She opened her eyes and sat up seterusnya to him.
“I thought many things too, Hugh.” She turned to look at him, his eyes were navy blue due to the lack of light.
“What was on your mind?” He asked putting a straw of hair behind her ear, she flinched again. It was too soon for her to feel his warm touch again but she didn’t jerk his hand away since she knew it would look like a childish action.
“Things” She whispered. Hugh pulled her towards his chest and Lisa sighed.
“What kind of things?”He berkata putting his arms around her waist.
“About life stuff.”
“Still thinking about the afternoon stuff?” She nodded although she was lying, her thoughts were dizzying and spinning around her head. And they all were focused on him and them.
“Look anda shouldn’t worry about that. I bet you’ll find a man that would take care of anda and that loves anda lebih than any-“
“What about us?” His hand stopped dead in tracks on bahagian, atas of her head. The soalan froze his veins. He turned to see Lisa’s blue eyes, so bright as always and he couldn’t help but reply.
“Us?” Lisa didn’t want to freak Hugh. She wasn’t expecting anything, she didn’t know what to expect but whatever Hugh meant sejak that us? Told her it was going to be a complicated response. She took advantage of the shock in Hugh and sat away from him to see his expression better. Hugh wanted to pretend that he never heard the soalan but he had to give her an answer but what if he didn’t know what to say? He didn’t want to hurt her but he wanted to make clear what was going on.
“It’s compli-“
“I know that it is complicated but there are so many other things. Like is this just a one night stand? Were anda just playing with me? What is going to happen? How can I get away from anda when I am trapped in this freaking goddamn storm?!” There were some tears appearing in both pairs of eyes. He didn’t know what to say, he was asking the same questions.
“What am I supposed to respond? That this was the event to tunjuk us that we belong together? That it’s all gonna be lempeng, penkek and muffins after this? That it was a mistake that should never happen again? Lisa,” He caressed her cheek, “there are many jawapan to these questions.”
“Do we?” She asked softly getting away from his grip again. Hugh glanced at her confused.
“Do we what?”
“Do webelong- forget it. I’m gonna make some coffe, want some?” She berkata standing up.
“Yes” He said. Lisa didn’t notice that he was answering both of Lisa’s soalan at the same time.
