After their fight nothing was the same between them. In front of others they acted as if nothing was wrong. But everybody could notice the difference. They never talked anymore. At least not to each other. They never sit together, never sought out the other. They just existed side sejak side but never as one. They only interacted on camera. To an outsider everything would have seemed all right, but to the people around them it was strange at first, then alarming as time went sejak but nothing changed.
As for them? They were slowly dying inside. Not that they would admit to anyone, especially to each other, atau to themselves for that matter. Hugh became depressed again, nothing could cheer him up anymore. He functioned but wasn’t happy, not sejak a long shot. He did his job, went to work early, left late at night, and went out of his way to avoid Lisa. No matter how much he longed for her company.
As for Lisa, the sparkle disappeared from her eyes, no lebih glow, no lebih smiles. She looked like she had been crying a lot lately, but if anyone dared to bring up the subject she would change the topic atau just brushed it off as nothing. She started dating, Rawak men. Just for the sex really, if Hugh thought that about her then she saw no reason why she should act otherwise.
However, one day, she met Robert, who was a little like Hugh. Especially, with the married with children part. It was after their first encounter which led to sex, did she find out about his life and marriage, and she was ashamed. She wanted nothing to do with him, but he was persistent, not like Hugh she thought bitterly. He wanted her, no matter how she tried to tell him, that she is not interested. He berkata he would prove his Cinta for her, and seterusnya thing she knew he had left his family for her. She liked him, but it was never about love, at least not for her, but after this step, she just went with it, which maybe wasn’t too fair with him, but she thought maybe one hari she would fall in Cinta again. That is if that annoying, handsome, lovable, idiotic man would just release her heart.
And soon, too soon, the seventh season came to an end, and it meant an end for the tunjuk as well. Everybody was sad, but Lisa and Hugh were devastated knowing, if the tunjuk was over they would never see each other again.
After the golden globes, which they won sejak the way, they went to a party. She went with Robert, and he went alone.
- Hey Hugh. – berkata Robert Sean Leonard handing a bir to his costar.
- Hey – greeted Hugh with a small smile.
- What’s up? Enjoying the party?
- Well anda know I am not a party face but I try, as it is our last party together. – he berkata with a sad expression.
- Yeah. It’s so strange. The last years were great. It will be hard to break the routine, coming here, working… anda know.
- Yeah, I know what anda mean. - he looked over at Lisa with a berkata expression on his face, which did not go unnoticed sejak Robert.
- You two still don’t talk? – he berkata innocently, as if he didn’t know the answer already.
- We talk. Just…- Hugh left the sentence at that. Drinking the whole bir with a large gulp.
- Not to each other? - Robert filled in smartly, which earned him a frown.
- I think I am going home.- Hugh berkata at last.
- What? So soon? Why? It’s our last party. Stay a little longer. Come on, I’ll buy anda another drink.
- They are free.- berkata Hugh with a raised eyebrow.
- Well, I know, but I would buy anda one, if they weren’t.- Robert berkata shrugging his shoulders.
- Okay. Just one drink.- he berkata while looking around and spotting Lisa dancing and laughing with his boy toy.
- Beer?
- Nah. I think I need something stronger than that- he said, taking his eyes off the pair, and marching ahead of Robert, who looked in the direction his friend just had, and shook his head at them, finally following Hugh to the bar.
As the night went sejak Lisa was lebih and lebih uncomfortable. At first with Hugh being there and looking so sad and handsome at the same time, and then with Robert breathing over her shoulder all night. She couldn’t talk to anyone without him being there. She knew that she was the one who brought him along, but seriously, she thought he would be a little lebih self- sufficient. Obviously, she thought wrong. And the dance…. She was lebih than annoyed during their dance when he couldn’t keep his hands to himself, and continuously tried to Ciuman her. She didn’t know why this annoyed her so much, but it did, however, she refused the idea of Hugh. She was tired and cranky, and just wanted to go utama alone, which wasn’t really an option, but going utama with Robert was still better than having him here with her, it was a logic, she didn’t really understand herself. So with that thought in mind, she turned to Robert.
- Hey Rob- she called him Rob, honey atau darling didn’t fit for her- I think I am ready to call it a night. What do anda say? Can we go?- asked Lisa looking expectantly at him.
- Oh... yes of course, if anda want to go home, then sure. I can think of better things to do at utama anyway.- he berkata smiling broadly, and wiggling his eyebrows at her. She groaned to herself, thinking it was the last thing she wanted to do, but put a smile on her face and turned to the others to say goodbye with Robert following her closely.
sejak the time she reached Hugh and Robert, she was nervous as hell. She had no idea what came over her, but suddenly she didn’t want to leave, atau at least didn’t want to say goodnight, because in her and Hugh’s case it would mean goodbye. However, she put on a Brave face and went over to them.
- Hey guys- she greeted as cheerfully as she could manage.
- Lisa, Robert- berkata Robert a little bit surprised at her appearance at their side.
- Hey- berkata Hugh, while trying not to stare at Lisa’s beautiful body.
- Hugh, Robert – Robert greeted oblivious to their awkwardness.
- Um… we just wanted to say good night, because we are leaving.- berkata Lisa hurriedly not wanting to spend anymore time than necessary with them, atau rather Robert spending lebih time with Hugh. To her luck, Robert engaged her boyfriend in a conversation, and she was free to talk to Hugh alone for a moment. atau to her misfortune, she couldn’t quite decide.
- So…- berkata Hugh, trying to fill the awkward silence.
- Um… anda going back to London this week?- berkata Lisa trying to steer the conversation to selamat, peti deposit keselamatan territory.
- Yes, actually I am flying back tomorrow morning. I’ve just told Robert that it was time for me to go, if I want to be able to get up.- berkata Hugh, while not resisting the urge to look her up and down this time. Seeing that Lisa blushed, then became angry at herself for letting him influence her this way, and she was angry at him for looking at her like that. Like she still mattered to him, like he cared about her, maybe even longed for her. But no that’s not the case obviously, so she just shook her head trying to get rid of these traitorous thoughts.
- Well then, have a good flight tomorrow and take care of yourself. I guess I will see anda around?- she asked and was even angrier at herself for sounding so hopeful.
- Actually… yes I guess I will see anda around.- he berkata at last, while knowing all that well that the moment she went out the door he would never see her again. He is not going to come back to LA. There is no reason. She is never going to be his, and he have to make things right with his wife, he owed it to her, and to himself, if he is not going to take that chance at happiness with Lisa. She knew as well that he lied. They both knew the unspoken truth. This was it. The time for goodbye.
- Then good night I guess- she berkata instead. Still not been able to bring herself to say goodbye. At least not just yet.
- Good night Lise.- Hugh said, smiling at her sadly.
- Robert, good night to anda too- she said, after realizing that they were no longer talking but watching her and Hugh.
- Good night.- he berkata with a frown on his face, knowing that they are making a horrible mistake.
