IU‬'s soju CF's could possibly be banned

(NOTE: Despite what allkpop says, this is just a bill and not a law yet. The bill ALSO states that anyone advertising before the age restriction, if this becomes law, will be able to continue to do so. This is known as a 'grandfather' clause.)

A revised bill of the 'National Health Promotion Act' has been passed in South Korea sejak the Health and Welfare Committee. The new law states that no person, selebriti and sports stars included, who are at the international age of 24 atau younger can partake in promotions for alcohol.

If the law is passed, it will directly affect IU, who is currently an endorsement model for popular soju brand 'Chamisul', as her CF's will no longer be aired.

On April 23, a representative from the Health and Welfare Committee said, "The law proposed sejak Lee Ailesa from the Saenuri Party wishes to stop selebriti and athletes, who have a major impact on young people, and those who are internationally 24 years atau younger, from endorsing alcohol."

This means that it is all right for selebriti and athletes to take part in alcohol endorsements, but no one who is 24 years atau younger will be allowed to endorse alcohol. This is regarding international age and not Korean age, and affects those who are born in 1991 who have not yet turned 24.

If the bill is passed, the ban will take place in not only CF's on TV but in print advertisements as well including newspapers, posters, etc.

This bill was proposed because of figure skater Kim Yuna's endorsement of 'Hite' bir back in April 2012. As Kim Yuna is a world-renown Olympic winner, with peminat-peminat of all ages including minors, it was berkata that her alcohol CF's would likely affect minors to want to drink alcohol.

What do anda think of this possible ban?

+ Cha Tae Hyun thought Kim Soo Hyun would never take '‪‎Producer‬' role

On April 17, KBS revealed video of the first meetings between the stars of the upcoming drama 'Producer', and it was quite interesting to see their interactions!
IU and Gong Hyo Jin met in a waiting room, where Gong Hyo Jin asked IU, "How old are you? We probably have a 10 tahun difference?" IU replied, "I'm 23 years old (Korean age)," surprising Gong Hyo Jin.

The actress responded, "We're over 10 years apart. It'll probably be difficult for anda [to approach]."
For reference, IU was born in 1993 and Gong Hyo Jin was...
