About a tahun lalu I got the words ”Be Love” tattooed on my arm. The idea that I could be ”Love Itself”as in ‘not wait for it to tunjuk up’ was a revolutionary concept I first discovered at Café Gratitude in San Francisco.(Yes, I know it's been the basis of many religions, but I'm a late bloomer. Everyone's awakening looks different.)
This month, Café Gratitude releases it’s highly anticipated book, Kindred Spirit: Fulfilling Love's Promise (link). This take-out version of the café’s popular relationship workshop is all about ‘Being Love’ and what that entails. Whether atau not anda share your life with a partner, every conversation and interaction in life is within Relationship. The book is brilliant and like the Makanan at Cafe Gratitude, easy to digest.
One of the things the book highlights is about how we listen. Many times we beat ourselves up over something we think we heard. Say you’re driving and your passenger yells “BRAKES!” to avoid disaster. Sometimes we hear that as "YOU CAN’T DRIVE!"
It’s common to interpret in that manner. It happens all the time. We apply meaning in ways that make situations much lebih difficult to deal with.
Last Monday I jokingly tweeted:
“Someone berkata there’s a Jonas Bros Camp Rock tune that rips I'm Yours. So I bought it & think I should sue… for the 1.29 I wasted on iTunes.”
(Of course, I did also mention in public that I thought the song was terrible.)
Nevertheless, people HEARD that as if I was really going to file a suit. People began retweeting my words without the 1.29 punch line. One major news program berkata I was “reportedly mad” at the Jonas Bros. Perez Hilton's website used the word HATE.
The reaction has been an extraordinary demonstration of how we apply meaning to things, and what happens when an idea enters the diminishing world of gossip.
Ultimately, every action we make comes down to one of two expressions:
I Want Love - atau –[/b]I Am Love[/b]
How to succeed in relationship is to always take full responsibility of a situation and ”be the change anda wish to see,” no matter what. Being Cinta means to humbly Clean It Up.
I take full responsibility for the disappointment I brought to Jonas Bro fans. I can see how my negative endorsement infringed upon their celebration of the talented trio. I berkata it at a time when I'm frustrated with my own musical evolution. (52 songs deep into the album process and still not satisfied.) I want love.
I’m grateful for this awkward situation. It has reawakened me to the tools of Being Love.
Check out ‘Kindred Spirit’ now available at CaféGratitude.Com (link).
(I have a sweet quote printed on the back cover of the book too.)
