While I'm intrigued by the idea I fear that they may make a rather disappointing sequel to this,I feel like the sarah and jareth thing will not be explored much to some fans disappointment (mine aswell) but it's early days and who knows the scriptwriters may decide to turn it into a prequel and not an actual sequel.maybe along the lines of how jareth became goblin king but to be honest I'm on the fence about a new movie.

I don't usually like this. Can't remember a single one that worked out.... And I bet any kind of sequel won't have what made the original so memorable: the muppets (cause god forbid you don't use CGI nowadays) and David Bowie.

I dont think it's true. But anyway.....if Bowie would play in it, it would be awesome. That's never gonna happen

david bowie can make it work and I want to see it. I'm cautious but hopeful and a bit doubtful

I'm gonna wait with the excitement till the movie comes out, though if David and Jennifer are not in it, I am not sure I'm gonna bother.

They will probably cast Channing Tatum or some other current young heartthrob as Jareth and a girl who is completely generic and modern for Sarah. Both characters will lack their original charm. The other characters will probably be completely re-envisioned (no more animatronics, only CGI) and might look and act a lot differently. I think the idea is cool, but I don't have high hopes for it living up to the full fantastical potential that the original embodied. Still, I would watch it and try very hard to enjoy it for what it is. Honestly, I would be down for Johnny Depp to play the role of Jareth, which could be a possibility given his penchant for films of this genre.

Yeah Johnny Depp didn't think about him but you are right it's something he would probably consider since he usually goes for those kind of roles.
