sahour95 In my opinion you have pointed to a few really good points, I agree about the reason why Kate kept going back and forth from Jack to Sawyer, but that reason had always been obviouse for me and i kinda took it for granted that she had tortured us because of that. What if Saywer never jumps? I'm 99% sure that what you have said would've happened.What Cassidy had said in season5 in WHH, kind of makes sense to me, may be Sawyer wasn't being heroic, maybe he really wanted to escape from a probably seriouse relationship, we did see throughout season4 that he wanted to stay, and the reason he was heading back to the beach is that the houses were burned down, because he had no other choice. Anyway, SKate wouldn't have lasted like you said And the Kate crying part, I'm pretty much sure that it was because she sympathized with Sawyer, not because she got rejected, nothing romantic was really hented in this epi so... (SKaters, don't kill me!)

abs07 Thanks for your thoughts. I guess the reason why I wasn't 100% sure that kate's tears were sympathy tears is cause of a few things: 1. The look on Kate's face when Hugo spills the news of Sawyer and Juliet living together. But on the flip side, she had [b]just[/b] seen him again, so she probably felt her old feelings haunting her a little. Who's to say she had new feelings surfacing at that point? 2. What Miles said: "Wow, so Sawyer sent you packing, huh." The look on kate's face when he said that got me a little worried. What also got me worried, is that Miles [i]then[/i] said something like "yeah I woulda gone after him too, but I'm sure he would have told me to leave too" - the way Miles said it - it sounded rehearsed; robotic; like he was trying to act like he wasn't aware that Kate was romantically rejected. I dunno :P But again, on the flip side, maybe Kate felt rejected, cause she did have feelings for him, but old feelings (like the "I'll always care about you" feelings) - but not to the point where you'd wanna rekindle anything. 3. Sawyer says some people are meant to be alone - like it's his way of saying, he doesn't wanna be with her, and she needs to head back. Those for me were possible hints. But I'm leaning more towards the non romantic theory, because if there was a romantic thing going on on Kate's side, then that wouldn't do Jate justice. If Kate did wanna be with Sawyer, then it would look like she settled for Jack in the end - that is no epic love story; and that's what they made it look like by the end especially. I mean, they ended up together in the end, Kate was all over Jack, and Kate's feelings for Sawyer were just gone after she was "sent packing"? Don't think so. :D

DR76 I used to believe that Sawyer was the right man for Kate, until late S3. I saw how jealous she was of the Jack/Juliet friendship . . . and this was at a time when she was sleeping with Sawyer. I think that Kate did have feelings for Sawyer, but it wasn't deep enough. I think she used him as a spare, in case her relationship with Jack fell in troubled waters. Sawyer pointed this out in "Eggtown". And she tried to hook herself to Sawyer in mid-to-late S5, and in early S6, when Jack was maintaining his distance. But in S5, Sawyer was in a relationship with Juliet and in S6, mourning her death. As for Kate and Jack, I felt they went through a great deal of emotional upheavals. For me, this was a sign that their relationship and feelings for one another was a lot more serious. I think that they were mature enough at a point in late S6 to have a chance at a serious relationship. But death got in the way.
