It's about a mechanic(Mercy), who is also a walker(She's can change into a coyote). She lives in a modern world where the fae have "come out"; exposed themselves to humans. Some humans hate the fae and so they live on reservations(just like Native Americans). Mercy's neighbor Adam is a werewolf, the head of the local pack. She also fixes the BMWs of the local vampires; although she's Friends with only one of them(Stefan). Mercy was raised sejak Serigala Jadian because her human mother couldn't find any other walkers to raise her(they're extinct and her father died before she was born). But she doesn't fit in with the Serigala Jadian because she's a coyote(werewolves have a complicated social structure similar to real wolves). She left them when she was a teenager because one of them(Samuel) wanted her to marry him so they could have children(female Serigala Jadian can't give birth). Mercy realized that was the only reason he wanted her and so she left. The buku are about how Mercy delves deeper into the Supernatural world, making enemies along the way, and learning lebih about what it means to be a walker(which is very different than being a werewolf). The buku are full of magic and great characters. There's also romance as both Adam and Samuel vie for her attention. It's funny too! Here's a quote from the 2nd book: Stefan: "Hello, Mercy. I wonder if anda could do me a favor." Mercy: "I answered the phone at three o'clock in the morning...I suppose anda could go for a saat favor but I'd prefer anda hang up and call me back at a lebih civilized hour."
