This is it. Today I am going to fly. epal, apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle are looking at me with big, hopeful eyes. I have to fly. I have to learn today.
"C'mon, Scoot! Just remember what we watched on flyin'!" epal, apple Bloom calls up to me.
I think of pelangi, rainbow Dash, flying and zipping around. I picture it clearly in my mind. She's always been the one person to really inspire me to fly. And today, I'm going to do it.
I trot to the edge of the branch and jump. I flap my wings as instructed sejak the recording. I brace myself for a painful collision with the ground, but it doesn't happen.
I'm flying and it's all I've ever dreamed and better! The wind whips through my mane and everything I've been scared of disappears. I fly all around the small area. I can hear Sweetie Belle and epal, apple Bloom cheering me on and finally I decide to land.
It's a bit of a rough landing and I hated to stop flying.
"That was amazing, Scootaloo!" Sweetie Belle exclaims, hopping up and down, a huge grin on her face.
Amazing? I check my flank, hoping for a cutiemark. But no; nothing. I groan because I'm really upset, but then I regain my composure.
"Thanks, but apparently it wasn't good enough for Celestia," I grumble.
"Now don't be too upset yet," I hear a voice behind me and let out a little squeak. There she was. Princess Celestia, ruler of practically everything.
"Hello Princess," I say and we all bow in respect.
"What're anda here for, though?" epal, apple Bloom blurts out. I glare at her. Curiosity killed the colt.
Princess Celestia gave a small smile. "I was going to do the honors of giving Scootaloo her cutiemark in person."
She outstretched her horn and in the blink of an eye my cutiemark appeared on my flank.
Best. Day. Ever.
