I had been trying to deny it for so long but Jared is a terrible actor! He was KIND OF decently good in the first two seasons but he just kept getting worse and worse with each season. He has very few facial expressions, poor diction, mumbles his lines, has a wooden line delivery (Especially when he shouts), and was just awful. I'm not going to give him a break just because he's a kid because there are plenty of really talented child actors that can be just as good as adult actors. Plus when a kid is cast in a professional show, I expect quality acting, especially in such a HUGE and popular show like Once Upon a Time. I like Jared as a person but he sucks as an actor.

Joshua is a great actor and always has been at such a young age. He takes his craft seriously, always tries to get better, and could really play the character of Henry well. He's played a lot of characters that live in their own little world, are mature for their age but still have that charming child-like innocence, are smart, dorky (In a good way), and would bring a lot of charm to the character. Also, something that would work to the show's advantage, Joshua is very young looking, despite at this current time is 17. Jared isn't much older than Joshua but he's clearly matured and grown physically A LOT throughout the show and they've had to do time jumps and such in order to explain Henry getting older. With Joshua's looks, they could get away with that a lot more easily. They also might've ended up casting Colin as Neal instead of as Hook because of how Joshua and Colin look a lot alike. The reason I bring that up is that it could mean they wouldn't make Hook a main character who has no point other than to be Emma's boy toy and eye candy.

Joshua Rush because he really can act and is much better in emotional scenes and he can actually sing. I would loved to see him in the musical episode. If Josh wasn’t cast as Henry I would say Asher Angel.

I like Jared, he's great. I have trouble picturing anyone else as Henry at this point, after 6 years with Jared, technically 7.
