Rio Ferdinand out partying with boyband One Direction at his restaurant Rosso


As a peminat and champion of rap and urban music, we didn't have Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand down as a boyband kind of guy.

But here is Rio partying with the lads from X Factor pop band One Direction after the big game at Old Trafford this week.

Heart-throb youngster Harry Styles, from Holmes Chapel had been to watch the Reds beat Stoke 2-1 with his dad and his bandmate Louis Tomlinson, and they bumped into Rio in the players' lounge.

Rio swiftly updated his Twitter web page with the historic meeting, saying: “Just in the lounge with the One Direction young guns, they seem to be loving this boyband life.”

An invitation to his Italian restaurant Rosso in the city centre swiftly followed, and off the lads headed, where Rio then tweeted: “the few chics that were in Rosso were all over ya!”

Manchester hayun, swing king Cole Page also spied the lads in Rosso, where he was performing his regular Tuesday night live slot at the celebhaunt venue on Spring Gardens.

But despite being the master at getting celebs to sertai him on the mic, Cole couldn't persuade the One Direction chaps to sertai him for a few ditties – but they did pose up for this photo.

Cole says: “After my main set I did a few Billy Joel songs and they came over to say they loved them. I did ask them to sertai me for a song but they declined. They seemed like great guys – they may be young but they're quite mature.”
