One Direction band to 'fork out £3k each for Marijuana bond' in Philippines

It was claimed they were smoking and joking about a suspicious looking cigarette in a video clip taken in Peru last May, where it is legal to have a small ammount of cannabis for personal use.

The band face forking out more than £3,000 each if they are caught using or promoting drugs when the band\'s On The Road Again tour hits Manila in the Philippines this weekend.

However Malik has returned to the UK to \'recouperate\' after fans on social media sparked remours about the strength of his relationship with his Little Mix girlfriend - Perry Edwards. 

According to the BBC, local immigration have insisted if the boys pay 200,000 pesos each for a special work permit, in order to "protect public interest."

Elaine Tan, of the Philippine Bureau of Immigration said that if the band fail to pay the amount on time, or break the rules, this could stop them performing. The hefty sum includes an additional processing fee of 20,000 pesos.

"The condition is intended to protect the public interest should the band members commit any violation during their stay in the Philippines," Tan said.

The group have also called on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to send officers to monitor the band, the reports continue to state. A concert producer is thought to have gone to the Immigration Bureau today to post the bonds, according to Christine Ching, who is a spokeswoman of Anti-Drugs Advocate.

"We want to see their pure, raw, untainted talent," she said of the group\'s influence on their younger admirers.

The video of Zayn and Louis reportedly smoking marijuana in the back of a car whilst on tour in Peru, unsurprisingly, went viral, when it emerged last year.

After keeping quiet for a little while, 1D band member Liam Payne eventually took to Twitter to post: "I love my boys and maybe things have gone a little sideways. I apologise for that."

In the controversial clip, Tomlinson can be heard behind the camera saying: "So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days!"

He asks Zayn: "What do you think about that kind of content?" to which his bandmate replies: “Very controversial."

Louis even jokes the police giving them an escort could probably "smell something" coming from their car. The singer joked: "One nil b***h! Look at this b***h! He’s having a look. He’s thinking, \'I’m sure I can smell an illegal substance in there.\' And he’s hit the nail on the head."

Louis and Zayn are set to perform alongside bandmates Harry, Niall and Liam, at the seaside Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on March 21st and 22nd. The likes of Justin Bieber and Justin Timberlake have previously taken to the famous stage.
