I'm sorry, but that's a very hard question. I don't think I could answer it because i'd want each one of them to be my best friends for many different reasons.

i agree livexthexlife92. i think i'd only want to be peyton's friendship because she could make me awesome music playlists to listen to- but otherwise, it seems like she really only acts like a good friend when she either 1- feels guilty for not being there in the past, 2- because she screwed up and wants to be forgiven, or 3- because it's convenient for her.

while brooke has done things that have made her a bad friend (like making jokes about peyton's mothers' deaths....that was NOT ok no matter what way you look at it)- I think she has done the most to help her friends in the most selfless ways and it's constantly being shown on the show. she never stops doing things for other people....even nathan mentions it in the episode with Q's funeral-- how clearly brooke is going through her own hard life crap but she kept it to herself and went to a funeral for someone she never met to support her friends and her godson- even though she was having problems with her mother and had just been robbed and badly beaten- she set her problems aside to help others during their difficult time.
plus...brooke is so much fun and cracks me up!!!

in the past i would have said haley would make a great friend....she's done a lot of stuff for lucas, brooke, peyton, and nathan that make me think she is a great friend....but the last 2 seasons i haven't seen it as much. i think two of the only great friendship things she has done in the past 2 seasons is trying to help lucas when he was going through his depression when he thought lindsey was dating again (pulling him out of bed, their talk on the rivercourt...), and when she gave brooke the therapists phone number this season because it was her way of showing she cared but still respected the fact that brooke might need someone other than a friend to talk to about what she was going through.
but i think seasons 1-4 she was a really great friend....actually, she wasn't such a great friend in season 2 while she was on tour (she barely spoke to lucas at all, and never spoke to brooke or peyton- only spoke to brooke when brooke came to visit with lucas). ok i'm starting to think maybe haley isn't as great as i thought...

Haley is a great friend and I LOVE Peyton but I think Haley would understand me better because we're kinda alike!

Peyton becuase she is so awesome and despite her issues she is a great friend. Haley is really cool too. Brooke would be nice since shes an awesome designer but overall peyton is my fave!

I picked Brooke because I'm so much like Peyton and my bestfriend right now reminds me so much of Brooke. She calls me Peyton and I call her Brooke.

They are all great,so I wouldn't mind but peyton is my fav even though she has a lot to deal with.Brooke would be a great friend also...she would be all funky and crazy and Haley would be a girl that I would hang out with in real-life.She's really sweet and nice and not very crazy(just like me).....I would love to be friends with all of them...that wouldn't be too much to ask right?
