Kowalski had finally realized he still had his flamethrower, he yanked it out as Pennywise was about to maul him, and then blasted it straight into his face, the burns didn't hurt Pennywise, but it made him jolt back, enough to let go of Kowalski. I think Skipper is hiding something from us all the time. He hasn't talked to us since the mission in the lemur habitat. BUT MAYBE THIS IS THE TIME THAT SOMETHING WILL BE REVEALED. I'm pretty sure about it. I've been saying it all this time in this story.
