Reeve Carney paints a clearer picture of Dorian Gray for this coming "Penny Dreadful" season 2.

In the string of behind-the-scenes footages and interviews recently unleashed by Showtime, Reeve Carney speaks up about Dorian Gray a month before the show\'s scheduled release date. What dark madness comes for him in "Penny Dreadful" season 2?

The 31-year-old American actor sat down for the behind-the-scenes interview of the horror TV series "Penny Dreadful" season 2. He portrays the handsome Dorian Gray, whose character is based on Oscar Wilde\'s controversial and unusual hero in the 1891 novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray."

"There\'s a sadness in Dorian in the realization that being immortal is quite enjoyable but at this point we realize the luster is starting to wear off a bit," shared Reeve Carney in the behind-the-scenes teaser.

"We leave off at the end of season 1 with Dorian emotionally broken for possibly the first time in his life," continued Carney. "[\'Penny Dreadful\' season 2] is about regaining his confidence. Dorian, he always seems to find a way of filling that void of loneliness. You see a more human side of Dorian, while he escalates into something quite different. Anything that\'s new is something that excites Dorian. He is constantly wanting to push against barriers and go towards whatever is most dangerous."

For "Penny Dreadful" season 2, "Dorian has the potential to fully embrace the dark side. You never know where things might go," Reeve Carney teased.

Dorian Gray is among the main characters for the coming "Penny Dreadful" season 2. Other cast members from season 1 returning to "Penny Dreadful" season 2 include Eva Green who plays Vanessa Ives with Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, Rory Kinnear, Danny Sapani, and Harry Treadaway.
