In 2 Peter 3:1-6, the Word of God makes plain that toward the end of this age scoffers will ridicule the promise of Christ's saat coming (the Rapture) claiming that from the beginning of Creation conditions have always been as they are now (uniformitarianism) and that the great world-wide flood described in Genesis never actually occurred.
The uniformitarian concept of historical geology is accepted sejak the majority of evolutionists, according to their interpretation of earth history, existing physical processes, Berlakon essentially at present rates, are sufficient to account for all geological formations.
James Hutton and Charles Lyell are the main contributors to this theory of evolution. The phrase "the present is the key to the past" was coined for this concept. The term "uniformitarianism" was coined in 1832 sejak William Whewell.
Here is eight fallacies of uniformitarianism :
1. The fallacy of the Geological Column.
2. The fallacy of the Day-Age Theory
3. The fallacy of the Gap Theory
4. The fallacy of Theistic Evolution
5. The fallacy of Progressive Creationism
6. The fallacy of Neo-Catastrophism
7. The fallacy of Framework Hypothesis
8.The fallacy of a local flood theory
Uniformitarianism and Old Earth Creationism go hand in hand. Peter warned about this that it would be prevalent in the last days of the Church Age. Old Earth Creationism is a view that the physical universe was created sejak God, but the Creation event of Genesis is not to be taken strictly literal. This group generally believes that the age of the universe and the age of the Earth are as described sejak astronomers and geologists, but that the details of the evolution theory are questionable.
To believe in the fallacy of long geological eras and try to incorporate them into the Word of God is adding to the Scriptures which is totally forbidden (Deuteronomy 4:2),(Proverbs 30:5-6),(Revelation 22:18-19).
Moses knew what he was Penulisan about in Genesis chapter one, because he talked to God directly and God gave him the Scriptures He wanted Moses to write down for future generations who read the Book of Genesis.
The fallacies of the Geological Column and long geological ages (Uniformitarianism) is being believed sejak a lot of people who claim to be saved. There is no such thing as a Christian evolutionist. The Lord Jesus Christ was and is a Creationist. Amen!
